Was Koufax mentioned in the book? Did he play for the Dodgers in the early 50's?It's been decades since I read Roger Kahn's book. "The boys of summer occupied the baseball seasons of the early 1950s, the boys being the stellar lineup of Brooklyn Dodgers who would win the World Series in 1955."
His career started late and finished early. A real tragedy. His MLB stats would be much better if he was not barred during the early years of his career.

Yes by all accounts a very accomplished player who like many in that era were victims of segregation.Josh Gibson would deserve consideration for best catcher of all time as well.
Only if Ernie Whitt is included.Does the Expos John Boccabella get a mention?
The Jarry Park announcer loved to stretch out all 4 syllables of his name.Does the Expos John Boccabella get a mention?
I actually saw the house on Laval Street where Jackie and Rachel lived during their year in Montreal/The noble citizens of Sanford Florida told Branch Rickey they would lynch Jackie Robinson if he set foot on their baseball field, so Rickey sent him to Montreal.
It was way before my time but I think a bit east of St. Laurent Blvd. (which divides west and east in Montreal) and close to the river.Where was Delorimier Stadium located?
