Who Will Win The 2020 U.S. Presidential Election?

Assuming Biden is the Democratic nominee, I think the Orange Clown will win. Yes, he will be hurt by the Coronavirus disaster, but Biden is in serious mental decline which the mainstream press is covering up like they did with Reagan.

Trump will not hesitate to expose him. In addition to major gaffes, Biden is fighting with voters who ask mildly challenging questions, a clear sign of the irritability that comes with mental decline.

See The Young Turks in YouTube. They predicted that Trump would win in 2016.

Biden is a good pick. He's not dis-likable enough to energize the Trump base. As a mostly-conservative I'm not afraid of him.

But.

As old as he is, if he chooses radical VP that could hurt him. Even then though, I've bet on him.

Sadly, with so much wrong in the US system, I still feel Trump is a slight favorite. His ability to cheat is strong and he doesn't have to win the popular vote (and the electoral college is slightly pitched in his favor). That and the fact the media is going to prop him up quite a bit with false equivalence and I think he's got like 55/45 chance of winning.

Sad to say that despite Trump being the most insanely incompetent boob in Presidential history, it is probably a 50-50 toss up in November ( at least at this point.... things may change )

Trump is ripe for the picking but Biden is the product of the same stale, self congratulatory and unaware Democratic machinery that brought you Hillary.

The US political system is characterized by inertia. When someone from the US tells me they are conservative, I hear fear of change wrapped up in a hollow bravado. I hear inertia.

The most practical social policy imaginable ...universal healthcare...is deemed radical. That’s just inertia. Democrats who embrace Biden...more frightened inertia.

The US is a country paralyzed by the fear of change.

But a lot of voters want change. That’s why Obama was elected. He just didn’t deliver much. That’s why Trump was elected and he’s not delivering much that’s useful. Who in their right mind thinks that Biden will deliver change?

America’s problems run much deeper than Trump. He’s nothing but a symptom.

Before COVID-19, I gave a slight edge to Trump over Biden
If COVID-19 gets mostly stomped out by end of summer and the markets come back strong, then it is 50-50 (with maybe a tiny Trump edge)
If COVID-19 sticks around to at least the fall, and the economy/markets are still in rough shape, then Biden will win

The wildcard is Sanders. If Sanders continues to prolong the democratic primary, especially with some primaries being postponed, and lets things drag out, continues to attack Biden in debats AND then gives a tepid endorsement of Biden, then this can chip away at Biden (who is already a soft candidate) and prop up Trump.

I was concerned about Biden's ability at the beginning of the debates, when there were numerous candidates just confusing him. However, in the previous two debates Biden seemed far more fluid. But during this latest debate Biden did show leadership qualities. He gave Sanders as good as he received, but he at the same time was reaching out to Sanders and his base. If Biden keeps up with this momentum without stuttering like he as done in the past, then sticking to the real content will expose Trump in the actual Elections Debates. This must be a cause for concern in the Trump Camp!!

Did you notice that, after everyone making a big deal about spreading out the podiums by 6 feet to create social distancing, Biden trotted right up the moderators table after the debate and hung out there for a few minutes - within 3 feet of the moderators! Now that's leadership! LOL!

Maybe he needed to nail down what their post debate talking points would be on CNN.

This guy's intellect is way too far out of warranty to be made President.

Trump will be POTUS on November 04, 2020. Guaranteed.

Americans love Trump, they’re afraid to state it publicly but they will vote with their paycheques.

Guaranteed.
Their paycheques are fucked, market is crashing, most americans can't survive a $400 emergency and everything is going to be shut down there for two months.

OIC but Trump standing within one foot of those who were invited to speak with him and then shaking their hands, I guess is more acceptable to you. Did Biden shake anyone's hands??

So comparing the two scenarios who has the better leadership??

You know nothing and are spewing unsubstantiated drivel. Typical leftist garbage.

Yawn.

Trump will be POTUS on November 04, 2020. GUARANTEED.

Just take your meds. Much better chance to gain some sanity than Trump being re-elected!!

Let's be real. Have Biden, Sanders, and all of the members of the moderators panel been tested for Covid? If yes, and they are all clear, the whole "social distancing" of the podiums was a sham just for show. But if they haven't, then just walking over to the moderators was a stupid idea. It was quadruply stupid in light of Biden just having spoken about how he's the one to get the virus under control for 2 hours. It's also massively hypocritical that no one on the panel tried to stop him, or even remind him of the reason for distancing.

That's not leadership, unless your idea of leadership are lemmings following each other over a cliff. This is how Biden behaved based on today's knowledge and medical advice. What Trump did as medical knowledge and advice was still developing is not comparable (unless your logic bone is broken).

The ignorance and extremely low level of intelligence in this country is much more dangerous than a virus.
The Guy who says this is your genius:

February 26: Trump baselessly predicts the number of US cases is "going very substantially down" to "close to zero"
Trump said: "I think every aspect of our society should be prepared. I don't think it's going to come to that, especially with the fact that we're going down, not up. We're going very substantially down, not up." And he said: "And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done."

To be fair, national polls are a serious problem with US elections, as 2000 and 2016 showed.

That said, it is important to remember how close 2016 was.
That RCP poll average above has Biden up by 6.4. Let's say it is off by the same amount the polling was for Clinton. (RCP had her winning by 3.3 and she won by 2.1 instead.)
If it was, then Biden wins nationally by 5.2.

If all the numbers were the same as in 2016, but Biden got an average of 3 percent more in each state, then Biden wins with 303 electoral votes.
If all the numbers were the same as in 2016, but Biden got an average of 1 percent more in each state, then Biden wins with 273 electoral votes.

Obviously, gains aren't distributed evenly. But Biden doesn't have to outperform Clinton by much to win.

Why is it that every candidate is super old and creepy ? It should be Bloomberg as the next prez but unfortunately the incumbent has a massive advantage which is why only a few presidents didn’t win the second term. Trump is the first republican that actually allowed the economy to grow but that is all gone now. The corona virus has doomed trump as everyone can now see what a failure as a leader he is. Why can’t the Democrats find another Obama? A young vigorous man with some fresh insight and new ideas ? America isn’t ready to stand behind a woman. I thought the 2016 election was pathetic but the 2020 field is even worse.

I voted for Joe in the poll. I think Joe has looked stronger and more confident as the campaign has gone on. He looked horrible in the first couple of debates but he seems to be finding his stride.

The other thing that Biden has going for him is the fact that no matter what anyone might criticize him for...Trump is exponentially worse. Corruption? Saying shit that makes no sense? Lying? LOL. Moreover, when you boil it all down, Joe is basically a decent guy and Trump is basically a raging asshole.

The only people who support Trump at this point are those who really really really really hate immigrants and people of colour...but this seems to include many Americans. Trump may yet wind up winning...I predict he tries to manufacture another “crisis” at the border and deploy the military again right before the election.
