Updates every day twice a day

If you check yourself daily, you will know the numbers.

For example, Friday morning had Ontario listed at 60 cases. It is now 103. It was 79 yesterday. So 20 a day last two days

I've never seen that site update twice, just once each morning. And it always seems to lag by a day.

For example, as of today Ontario had the highest single-day spike of 39 new cases bringing the provincial total to 142 confirmed cases, not 103. (103 was yesterday)

But it won't be reflected on the canada.ca site until tomorrow morning at 8am and that's the same number it will close with.

Global News has been reporting the most accurate up-to-date stats.

"As of March 15, there are 299 confirmed cases of COVID-19 — the illness caused by the novel coronavirus — in Canada, according to Health Canada and provincial health officials.

Ontario announced 39 new cases on March 15 to bring its provincial total to 142. Some patients that contracted the virus had a travel history to Egypt, U.S., and England, while others contracted COVID-19 through close contact. Most of the new cases are from the Toronto area.

Editors note: These numbers will continue to update as they are confirmed by Global News."

Follow the government advice to the letter: go home and hope you don’t die.

1) It might cause long-term lung damage, even for people with mild symptoms, so that you have trouble breathing for the rest of your life
2) It might cause testicular damage and infertility in men. Sucks if you want kids some day.
3) It's 10 times deadlier than the flu
4) It's highly contagious - airborne and on surfaces (for hours and days respectively), and spreading exponentially and no quarantine action is being taken
5) It's brand new with no vaccine in sight and we have no idea what else it has in store

That's strange.

Earlier it stated 39 NEW CASES. Which makes sense because it was 103 yesterday = 142.

BTW the total now shows 145.

You guys realize that numbers are fairy tales, right ?

The numbers are understated as they are not testing people who have travelled outside the country; they are told to self isolate for 14 days.
It's ok to understate the numbers as long as those people are in isolation. You can't really count them if it's inconclusive. Would you rather add them to the count if they're still inconclusive?

We won’t really know if it’s really inconclusive; they never got a chance to test. Intuitively, it appears that there are more cases than reported, that’s my point.
