Fuck the media 24/7 panic, anxiety and terror agenda ...

..all this behavior prompts increasingly more of the same. With terrorists, mass shooters and even winter terror storms laying low they`re loving the virus. Just a few years ago H1N1 registered over 60 million cases and nearly 12000 deaths in the US alone, hardly a blip on the radar. Influenza normally accounts for 300 to 650 thousand deaths annually,... taken in stride. What a state of affairs.

Keep in mind, the mortality rate for Convid-19 is something like 3.4%. That's massive compared to the flu, which is only like 0.1%. Now, this virus seems to really only kill the elderly, but it can spread fairly easily. I think news organizations are trying to keep people informed, but not panic them. If you just listen to the experts, wash your hands frequently, and self-isolate if you feel ill, this will blow over.

But I will agree with you on the whole breathless reporting of these things. I hate how they keep calling something breaking news hours after it happened. Especially when there are now new developments.

Not one person in America under 50 has died. This is way overblown.

And people losing 30% of their savings/retirement with probably more to go, is also a walk in the park. And people missing work and wages and/or not knowing what to do with their kids with schools closed are major disruptions that need to be dealt with in real time. But nobody under 50 has died so those other things are insignificant.

As always, we can count on you to put things in proper perspective. NOT. It is retarded perspective.

Cause and effect. Next time, don't panic so much.

You do realize that, eventually, you too have to die of something. I'm in that affected age group, too.

I`m nearly 63 and have far more concern about the financial aspect of this. I`ve heard infectious disease specialists and microbiologists speak about covid 19 and still believe the media lives for things like this, the ability to whip up terror and panic for ratings. To lighten up a bit... what`s the difference between coronavirus and a 737 Max?....the coronavirus is airborne!! And...did you hear the joke about the coronavirus?.. Nevermind, you probably won`t get it.

Sort of like underfunding education. People who are poorly educated are easier to control.

    If only people would.

Today I went to Walmart, Loblaws and two different Shoppers for Hand soap refill, eggs, and a can of Lysol.
Every store I went to was pure chaos. All were sold out of paper towels, disinfectant, all soaps, and toilet paper.

The checkouts were a mile long, and people had heaping carts.
I passed a lady who had three cases of Tuna. Not cans, cases!

It's absolute madness right now. I wish the media, and government would work to calm people, and not tell them things like "this will only get worse" or last for weeks..
Just educate people on precautions to take, and say 'officials are doing their best', nothing more.

Yes no doubt our government, business and media figures have instilled undue panic in the populace. Stores should be setting limits on how much people purchase of certain goods. Its insane what people are doing.

Go to a 24 hour metro at 4 am, it will be just you and the employees restocking the shelves. All the stuff people fight for will be yours for the taking in an eerie quiet way.

    Leave the stupidity to others

Plus your not in a crowd

You know, I can't help but think those who were around during WW2, behaved way better than this.

Heck even H1N1 back in 2009 was significantly higher in both effected people and deaths, but I don't recall this sort of hysteria back then.

Stocked up now, but honestly if the chaos continues, that's exactly what I might try doing.
    Excellent idea, thanks.

Why THE FUCK does anyone need so much ass tickets for a respiratory disease? If I get screaming diarrhea, will I stock up on Hall's cough drops and Vick's Vap-o-Rub? Can you all just wake the fuck up, and take a moment to settle down?

Look at those who have had , and OH MY GOD , survived covid-19. It was like a bad cold, treated with over the counter meds. Unless you are in a high risk group (elderly, compromised immune system, pre-existing medical condition), there is no reason to hoard anything, especially toilet paper !!!

Our parents lived through Polio.... POLIO !!!!!

    Get a grip.

The problem is...today we have 24/7 news, business news, Facebook, YouTube , Twitter, CP24, CNN, Fox, etc, etc. There's non-stop coverage. I am tired if it.

Peoples' panic have completely fucked up the supply chain... The stores will not be able replenish their stock from their stocked supplier warehouses to suit the stupid demand and rate of purchase.

If people acted normal things would stay normal.

Coronavirus 'hustlers' make over $100,000 selling cleaning products on Amazon

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...-a9401716.html

Lysol cleaning products are the solution to Mother Nature's human cleansing?

"...for the first time, in that night alive with signs and stars, I opened myself to the gentle indifference of the world. Finding it so much like myself—so like a brother, really—I felt that I had been happy and that I was happy again. For everything to be consummated, for me to feel less alone, I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and that they greet me with cries of hate."

I completely agree. First, the Toronto Public Health Department currently estimates that the risk of infection among Toronto residents is low. However, if you were by the news media you would think that this is the Black Plague and that people are dropping like flies. Second, even in the event of an increase in the risk level the segments of the population that are of concern are seniors, pregnant women, people with compromised immune systems and if you have travelled to one of the heavily affected countries (China, Italy and Iran). The mass hysteria currently taking a grip on people is unbelievable. The best thing one can do is to disconnect from or at the very least ignore all the nonsense on social media and stick to getting your information from reputable sources. I continue to live my life the way I normally do while enjoying the company of some fine ladies out there :-)
