Canada post, it is just discussing how these delivery guys chuck our parcels in our driveways & give no consideration that the Porch Pirates are lurking close by!
Have you lost your parcel from the Porch Pirates?
Are you giving second thoughts about shopping on line?
It's a real problem here in Kitchener, how about your community?

Are these guys making a full time living from harvesting our goodies we order by mail?

I have always been notified by Canada Post by a slip in my regular mail that there is a large parcel for pickup at the main office, they have never delivered right to my house.
I don't shop online so I wouldn't know if people would grab parcels off of my front porch, but if you went to my house right now , the back door is unlocked and the garage is unlocked.
When I park my truck in the driveway, it is never locked.
I have lived in the same neighborhood since i was 10 and have never had a problem.
Good neighbors make a big difference.

PeteOsborne it's great to hear you have such a lovely neighborhood to enjoy! I'm in a really nice part of Kitchener & also have been very fortunate to have decent neighbors. Our biggest concern is the lack of respect from Canada Post in respect to our mail delivery, it really sucks here & not in q good way!

I came from a small town in Nova Scotia & we did the same thing you & your family did, left our doors unlocked. we never had a problem.

Thanks for posting! :)

I've never had a problem.

My neighborhood has cameras installed on every other house it seems because its a higher up area on the outskirts.

We get the occasional car break ins from people not locking their doors but thats really it.
Hi smallhatchet, love those cameras, my favorite part is viewing being able to view your property from a cell phone, great idea!

In my area leaving packages on the front porch is not a problem . I spoke with the mail lady one time and she says my area is pretty safe for leaving packages . She did mention a few areas that were not . The city of Toronto is not a good place to leave a package . I order a lot on line and never had a problem . Canada Post or UPS or anyone else has left packages with no problems . I know when a package is coming . I'm usually home and many times there is no knock at the door and it's left there . I have no problem with that .

Packages are left at neighbours homes and they don't have any problems .

When ordering you can name a destination to have your package sent to . With Canada Post you can name a post office or drop off point near you . In nicer weather I've had packages left on my back porch . It depends on what type of neighborhood you live in .

Have never lost a package so far . I do lock my vehicles even when I'm home during the day . Why make it easy for someone to get in .

Have never had a lack of respect from Canada Post person or any delivery service . Not yet anyways .
