Terrible news. I owned the coffee shop around the corner from crown for 25 yrs. had the pleasure of serving many of the owners and girls from the first day it opened as blue pearl to minx. Met a lot of good people and made many friends from that spa. Good people. May the young woman who passed Rest In Peace and may God give her family and Jess the strength to carry on.

A burglar broke into your house and killed a family
member of yours during the robbery. Is it more
acceptable to let the fleeing burglar escape than
stabbing him in the back?
I'm not a violent man. Never hurt anybody. But if I have to defend myself or family I will. And I suspect many of us would too...
Ok, I went and looked shit up.
Section 494 of the Criminal Code allows a person to arrest someone they find committing an indictable offence - like killing one of their friends or hacking off their finger. (That's in addition to self-defence.) So that gets you into the area of whether she was trying to stop the guy escaping or simply clearly trying to kill him - assuming the fight was over and he was running away.
So let's start there and wait until some more facts come in and we'll see if the Terb and Associates LLP can come up with a defence for her.

I've been hobbying seriously for over 2 years now, first time I've heard of a sex worker being killed in Toronto. And such a crazy story too, a 17 year old boy with a machete storms a massage parlour? And the deceased has a young child, just awful.
There have been sex workers murdered in Toronto, Hamilton, London, and Mississauga in the past few years. I'm sure there are others I am missing.
