All organizations be they for or non-profit exist to make money. A "good" organization must maximize revenue while reducing expenses. They cannot ignore that simple fact otherwise they will not be able to achieve their goals whether they're making phones or saving the ocean. There are lots of organizations that treat their customers, members, etc. better than others, but they all need to make money. Those same organizations will have people that love them and hate them.
imo Canadian Tire, Recipe Unlimited, Boston Pizza. Loblaws also looks like they got themselves back under control.
I know it's not a company per se, but it's still a very poorly managed organization. They have the same constraints as any business: collecting revenues (fares, advertising) and managing expenses: salaries, capital expenses, etc.
