The father of a transgender person (12 year old girl who wants to be a boy) has just lost his appeal in British Columbia. He was trying to prevent his daughter from taking testosterone treatments and wanted her to be treated for the mental illness underlying the gender dysphoria issues. The State (teachers and judges) have interfered and sanctioned her treatments. Simple. In todays world, its not him or her. Its been socially and political correct to call children "They" or "Them".
Parental rights are non-existent and if you think you do have them, you will be a victim of abuse, racism, bigotry and homophobic to start.

That's part of the problem with the school system. Teach everything except what you need to know.

I do this type of law and parental rights extend til the child turns 16 years of age and can leave the family home. I may be missing something with this case. But there again, it's a disreputable website with a heavy duty political agenda breaching a court ordered ban. What's not to be suspicious about here?

Here is a story about the case from Sept 2019. It has been ongoing for a few years as you will gather from the article. Short version, couple separate over issues some which might revolve around kid transing. Mother promotes the transing of kid. Father is objecting. Psychologist School etc all for administering Testosterone treatments and Blockers , read "Affirmation Therapy", father fights to Superior Court, fighting the Therapy, his parental rights to protect child from exploitation, and the right to discuss in public. Court bars him from doing so citing child's right to privacy, calling his efforts 'family violence'.

Re your statement about Parental Rights till 16, that may be true is some instances but those Rights do not supercede the Child's Rights to privacy according to the ONHRT, and every School Board in the province. Teachers and Principals (Board employees) are forbidden from telling parents about changes in a child's behaviour related to gender issues without the consent of the child. Further, if Teachers or school staff suspect child is fearing that parents finding out will put them in harms way they are bound to report to child and family services, which as you know has the power to remove the child from the home. Especially after introduction of legislation brought in under Wynne. (need to look up those 2 as I can't remember them right now)

This was a case where the parents disagreed so the court went with the wishes of the teen. Not that complicated. Also of note is that when it comes to medical treatment, parental consent is not necessarily required.

I don't really have any skin in this game(Kids are raised and gone), but I firmly believe societal changes like this would not even happen with out the internet. A recorded 2000 years of human history and humans have evolved in 30 + years to switch characteristics? Unlikely. The chuckle worthy part of this, is that the same folks who make gods out of the scientists who speak about climate science, make goblins out of the same ones who speak of human biology.
