With the leafs sputtering with the same issues as when he was there and the new cool step dads (Keefe) shine worn off a bit, will babs find a new job? The Leafs will probably want 3-4 mill per season to let him go, will he accept a million or less per from a new team? Could be as many as 6 openings imo. Or is he the modern day mike keenan and be coaching in omsk next?

I think coaches salaries have topped at 3 mill from now on after babs getting the keys to the vault.

First guy that comes to mind is Joel Quenneville (Florida Panthers) at $5.25Mm/A.A.V.
In addition to his base salary, he has bonus clauses that total over $1.0Mm/Year

He'll definitely coach again. Not so much for the money but because he's addicted to coaching, and probably no where near ready to retire. Next job will be one he wants, not one he has to take just to get back in the game though. He still has considerable clout and cachet around the league.

The leafs want to get out from that contract, still 15 to 20 million left. Quenneville has been pretty average. See who takes the plunge.

Probably in Europe but I think he is enjoying the time off. He'll hop back on the horse in a few years.

Most definitely, but most likely not until the off season, when there is usually several turn overs in the coaching ranks.

The contract is an issue, the leafs won't release him from the contract if they are not well compensated. There has never been a coach fired in this position before, owed so much money.

It could be Pat Roys turn, petey laviolette speaks french.
I am not a Pat Roy fan. I don't think he did very well in Denver.

Does Kirk Muller speak French or is he now a career assistant coach?
