It helps that Shirley Bassey just oozes sexuality.

This song was replaced by the one sung by Tom Jones
for the title sequences of 'Thunderball'.

For me its a choice between Sheena Easton's 'For Your Eyes Only' or Duran Duran's 'A View To A Kill'. Sheena Easton looks much better than Simon Le Bon but I don't think its fitting to go with a slow song as the best song of the James Bond franchise. So AVTAK it is


For the most part though, James Bond theme songs are underwhelming.

I love that song. Hear it played every now and again on 70's on 7 or The Bridge.

''To live and let die'' I think is the best Bond Song for the film

But '' For Your Eyes Only'' might be the best song.

The one and only song has endured through almost sixty years of James Bond is the original "James Bond" theme played by the great Vic Flick on his electric guitar and was the song on the opening credits of "Dr. No." It is played in every James Bond movie and is the one piece of music almost every one in the world knows.

I think You Know My Name does a pretty decent job of embodying the essence and energy of Bond. (Unintentional alliteration there.)

Casino Royale runs a VERY close second in most departments.

But nothing matches Goldfinger.

all entries in the series when John Barry was in charge.
