The attempted assassin who was invited to a state dinner at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s infamous India trip was arrested in British Columbia on Monday.

Jaspal Atwal, the convicted of attempted murder for his role in the 1986 attempt to assassinate Punjab minister Malkiat Singh Sidhu, allegedly made threats to a former coworker of his.

According to True North, Atwal allegedly threatened a former colleague of his from Media Waves Radio, Ashiana Khan, while having dinner with a small group at the Civic Hotel in Surrey, BC.

According to a source, Atwal threatened the group by telling them that he would “finish them all off.” He then threatened to take photos. Atwal then took photos of Khan’s vehicle in the building’s parking facility. Atwal was then arrested and taken into custody by Surrey RCMP.

This isn’t the first arrest for Atwal since Trudeau’s disastrous India trip—a trip in which Atwal was an invited guest to dinners, and was even photographed with Sophie Trudeau.

“His Excellency Nadir Patel, High Commissioner for Canada to India, is pleased to invite Jaspal Atwal to a dinner reception celebrating Canada-India ties on the occasion of the visit of The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada,” read an invitation to the dinner reception.

According to a report by the Toronto Sun, Atwal was arrested in April of 2018, again for allegedly uttering threats. Atwal appeared in Surrey Provincial Court in July, 2019.

Atwal was formerly a member of a Khalistani separatist group, the International Sikh Youth Federation. That group was designated a terrorist entity by the Canadian government.

Atwal’s invitation to the dinner prompted backlash from both Indian media and government, as party officials expressed anger that a convicted terrorist was invited to a state dinner. Backbencher Randeep Sarai eventually claimed responsibility for the invitation, eventually stepping down from his position as Pacific caucus chair.

I've seen Justin Trudeau on TV. Does that mean that I am also tied to him?

If this was in the US, Trudeau would be telling his Attorney-General to "drop the charges" because Atwal is apparently some kind of supporter. Just like Trump tells Dis-Barr-ed.

But of course, Trudeau is a stand-up, non-corrupt guy who doesn't do the shit Trump does.

Yes that's why Trudeau has 2 ethics violations handed to him for not being a corrupt guy.

I would have done the same thing, if I was Trudeau. It involved keeping a large Canadian company in business and protecting Canadian jobs. Trump just takes care of his cronies.

Spot the difference?

Fixed your post.

BTW he has an ethics conviction. It's called being impeached.
Failed impeachment. Like getting charged for speeding and fighting it in court and winning. Doesn't matter.

"Not having ethics" is a subjective opinion.
Having two verified ethics convictions through a legal process is not subjective opinion...it's fact.

Get your head around that.

Failed impeachment.
As with so many of your posts, you are wrong. And it is not even open to interpretation. trump has been impeached. End of story.

...And that means? Yeah, nothing. Wasn't the intent to remove him from office? How did that work out?
My analogy still stands.

He's impeached.

The GOP failed is acquittal however, it doesn't count since it wasn't a legit trial with witnesses, it was just a coverup.

Everybody know that the GOP controlled senate wouldn't remove him.

Nobody expected them to make the trial a farse or for one repug senator vote to remove Trump, though.

The intent was to remove him..period. They hate his guts and they know he was going to be voted in again. They're so desparate..

Your analogy is wrong.

A speeder is charged with speeding, but gets off so he was never convicted.

trump was charged with obstruction of Congress and abusing the powers of his office, I believe it was. He was convicted. He did not get off of the charges.

So your analogy is wrong and calling it a failed impeachment is wrong. He simply was impeached.

Again, all of us stated that Trump would not be removed from office due to the Republican majority and the requirement of 67% of votes in the Senate to do so. But Congress did their job based on the evidence. The further evidence such as documents and Whitehouse staff being subpoenaed, was again blocked by the Republicans as the main aim was to reveal the full evidence to all the 70% or so of Americans who desired it. In plain lingo, Trump was and is still impeached, but not removed from office. "Failed impeachment" would have meant it being thrown out by the Congress, and then not proceeding to the Senate for removal from office. So that analogy is not correct!!
