Trudeau just put the fire out on his burning ass. Freeland gets a get out of the dog house free card , political points and DATY as she moves up the political lader.

Trudeau had to act before Legault ( Premier of Quebec ) sent in the Quebec Provincial Police to the train blockade in St. Lambert PQ. Legault is an opportunist and will steal the thunder from Trudeau to make himself look good and to get re-elected.
That's exactly what Legault did he sent in the riot police and cleared up the blockage in Quebec. Smart move. Doesn't make Trudeau look good, specially now that the other natives in the West laughed at Trudeau.

Quebec rail blockade abandoned by protesters after riot police arrive to enforce injunction

ST-LAMBERT, Que. — A blockade south of Montreal that halted rail traffic and frayed nerves since Wednesday was abandoned late Friday after riot police arrived to enforce a court injunction.

The roughly two dozen protesters, acting in solidarity with Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs contesting a British Columbia natural gas pipeline, had begun dismantling the encampment earlier in the evening following discussions with police.

They took downs tents and carried items such as sleeping bags, pots, propane tanks and a wood stove to the edge of a security perimeter established earlier in the day by Longueuil municipal police.

Then at around 10 p.m., a spokesman wearing a ski mask and sunglasses announced the rail blockade in St-Lambert, Que., was ending but said the fight was not over.

“Even though the colonial police is removing this barricade with violence and contempt, others will emerge,” he said.

At least Trudeau gave them time to try and negotiate and avoid the use of force, but the time has come for action. Can't let this small group of troublemakers destroy our economy
These blockages are like a toothache. Get rid of them --- quickly. Quebec doesn't talk, they take action, unlike ROC (Rest of Canada).

yip, cuz Quebec wants the free money from most of the ROC.
Yes, but aren't they worth it? Ok, maybe I'm only kidding.

I had a fantastic childhood and young adult years in Quebec but I figured I could make more money in Toronto and one can't be a child or young adult forever. Anyone who never lived at least a few years in Montreal and Quebec is missing an amazing life experience.

I’m pretty sure they lost relatively easily because the were never a nation to begin with and simply made up of different tribes scattered around the country.

Trudeau and the gas company should concede to the demands of the hereditary chiefs. Pull out the RCMP...indefinitely postpone construction on the pipeline. Put the Native cops in place to manage the protest sites. Trudeau should then seek to engage the chiefs in consultation. In exchange, the chiefs have the barriers removed.

Then start all over in negotiations with the chiefs. If no agreement can be reached then cancel the project.

In the mean time, not all members of the Native community support the hereditary chiefs. Many (perhaps most) support the elected chiefs and are angry at the hereditary chiefs for overriding their wishes and preventing economic growth in their communities that the pipeline construction will provide.

So...let the hereditary chiefs feel the heat from their own communities and they will have less support as the discussions drag on. If the RCMP comes in with riot gear and starts arresting Native protesters it will look really bad and the Native community will all rally around the protesters/hereditary chiefs if they feel their community is under attack.

It also seems like the hereditary chiefs don’t even really want to speak with JT or his ministers. Apparently they are refusing to meet until all of their demands are met...it kinda looks like they don’t wanna meet at all. Therefore...call their bluff. Give in to all of their demands...there is a good chance they will still refuse to meet and, if so, support for them in the Native community will erode if they perceive the hereditary chiefs are just posturing and playing games.

The folks here in Edmonton told these track squatters to fuck off 12 hours after they put their blockade......
Those Edmontonians are a bunch of racists. Just kidding! Just kidding! (Disclosure: According to my DNA test I have a trace of indigenous blood. Have no clue how it got there. The lab probably made a mistake. Eddie will probably now call me Chief Crazy Horse.)

Was your DNA test performed in the same lab that found 2 different results from blood samples submitted by a pair of identical twins during a CBC investigative report?

The Quebec Provincial Police did not go in to clear the train blockade. The natives walked away after Trudeau announced that enough was enough and the blockades must come down.

If you give a thug what he wants, he will be back for more.

Just by pulling your dick out of your pants does not mean you are going to fuck. Trudeau already made the announcement that enough was enough. Check the news clip, they vamoosed on their own. Check the news report. The Quebec Provincial Police was there the whole time without result.

I get the impression the protesters are just hoping the OPP uses force/violence to remove them to win the PR war.

Making the announcement that enough was enough didn't help much, what helped is the police showing up and they abandoned the location. The same way the OPP showed up and arrested the natives in Belleville.
