    Sign in sheets?

    Hi everyone.. looking for advice regarding sign in sheets in upscale buildings. I just found a gorgeous unit that tics every other box for a luxurious incall- except the annoyance of a sign in sheet! High end ladies and hobbyists, has this affected you in any way? Do they even check. Do they care.. even a few regular calls every week could raise some flags? Do you tip off the concierge? Do they ever ask the visitors for i.d? Any intel is much appreciated. Thx

    I’d think it would vary from building to building. Visitors are supposed to sign in in my building, but in practise, it rarely happens. Also, when I’ve looked at the sheets, it looks like most people just sign their first name (they’d just write: Jeff visiting Bill at #1501 or something similar). Don’t think any of the ladies who have visited me have had to sign in. I think usually if I buzz my visitor in, the concierge doesn’t bother them. They’ll just (sometimes) ask if it’s someone who enters the building without being buzzed in. That’s just my building, though, others may be more anal about it.

    The tricky part is if you do need visitors to sign in and they do enforce it, it’s a problem because if you have guests coming and saying they’re visiting someone with a different name than the one listed on your unit (I assume you’re not renting under your work name), it may arouse suspicion. Maybe tell the concierge you’re a massage therapist or something and will have clients coming to your unit regularly and see if that will be a problem?

    I put a fake name. Usually lesser known movie characters or some philosopher (once signed in as Felix Leiter (james bond films)and another time as Ludwig Wittgenstein). Have some fun. The ladies will know if you got a wowser at the desk and will give you a name to say who you're visiting.

    Would it possibly be more of a hinderance for you if everyday you have multiple men visiting your unit ? I know it’s a problem in my building ,, it’s no secret who the hookers are in my condo lol , very attractive , cosmetic surgery and never seem to go out to work day or night cause I see the same 5-6 ladies and I see them in the parking garage and they all have very high end cars . Now before someone jumps all over me I know they could be doing office work from home but I have to say they look like strippers or escorts to me . I am friendly with the condo manager and he tells me there is at least 10 escorts in the building and they have multiple men visiting and he had to send a generic letter to all residents stating that there is no businesses allowed to be run from a unit . My opinion and who cares what I think but probably better to stay under the radar .

    Happened to me 3x and in every situation the booker told me in advance to sign in with my own name and to use the Tenant's alias. Prefer no sign in.

    I prefer no sign-ins, but only few building require to check id, I avoid those in the next time

    One incall I went, the concierge asked me to sign, I saw the sheet had at least 6 entries for the day for the same unit I was going to

    not a guess for concierge what's happening in that unit

    Well, Samantha Jones' potential Property Manager may not be as understanding...

    unless the unit she is looking at is in ICE Condominiums; I've heard that building is pretty much just investors with multiple units that they AirBNB. Nobody gives a damn in that condominium.

    Nice okay I've been trying to get a showing at the ICE condos but no responses. Other upscale spots with just a buzzer would be helpful if we can get a list going. The only reason I'm toying with the idea, is that the sign in buildings are fancy fancy.

    I’d avoid the ICE condos like the plague. I looked at a few of the units there when I was condo shopping a couple years back. They’re small, looked cheap, it took 15 minutes for the elevator to come (and we viewed units on 3 different floors!), and the people were disorganized and horrible to deal with. Also seems to be basically a glorified hotel at this point with all the Airbnb rentals. The reviews seem to agree with me as well. Very happy I didn’t buy a unit there, sounds like it’s somewhere between a frat house and a war zone in there 24/7. Much better off with the building I eventually wound up in, aside from the fucking condo board taking nearly a year to approve my renovations.

    I’m surprised they let you in. We were there with the real estate agent and the horrible bitch of a building manager was giving us all kinds of trouble. Insisting our agent didn’t have an appointment (he did), saying they don’t do showings on the day we were there (the agent was not told this), we eventually had to contact the agent listing one of the units we were viewing and have her confirm that we did, in fact, have an appointment and the whole “no viewings on certain days” thing was a load of bullshit.

    As a SP I would not lease an incall in a building requiring sign in for visitors. This indicates they take access control somewhat seriously. And as most condo's have a prohibition against carrying on business activities, you risk getting kicked out.

    Better to look for a place like ICE where there is plenty of Airbnb and other traffic.

    Interesting maybe you just ran into some assholes.
    The lobby was kinda busy at the time I went.
    I honestly now don't recall how the building was set up, and how I intially got in, I think I was just able to walk in, are the doors usually unlocked and you need to buzz to use the elevator?

    What I do recall is that I had to wait in the lobby for between 5-10min because she stopped texting me, I was literally siting on the couch. I even walked around, and I accidently left through the west side and waited for some other people let me, by no means did I think I was discreet. Maybe I was lucky???

    Perhaps the reception was awful or she was still getting ready, idk the reason.
    While in the elevator I had no signal if that is any proof.

    I thought for a Toronto condo the place was spacious.
    Maybe my expectations are very low.

    Could be. My perception was that the management seemed incredibly disorganized, so it’s entirely possible that the reception you’d get would be inconsistent.

    Depends on what sort of buildings you’re looking at. Newer buildings all seem to have tiny units, so perhaps these ones look big by comparison? My building is from the 90s and my unit is nearly double the size of a comparable unit in the York building (and less expensive).

    I have never really looked around, I don't live nor have any interest in living in the city currently.
    I just go there to hobby and more often than not visit those staying in larger hotels which has probably skewed my perception.
    I will rarely go to a condo, I don't like to visit private dwellings.
    Far too many have invasive screening, and if they don't and it's too easy to visit I become supicious.

    LOL how can a condo try to enforce a ban on a legal job.

    It's not against the law to host clients as an escort in your private residence under Bill C-36
    Not only that, they have no way of proving that there is money being exchanged, nor can they limit how many guests you have per day.

    To answer your question Samantha, I would say try to avoid condos with security to that extent. It will only draw more attention to you, unless you don't care about funny looks, judgement, or fear having the owner of the unit informed about the high volume of traffic or noise complaints.

    I work only during the day and shut down the shop by 10pm, I ask that they just discretely walk in and not knock, I keep the moans to a minimum and music on near the front door and in the bedroom. Also mind your business and don't be too friendly with your neighbours, the less you talk the better.

    The condo I live/work from is very high security. Buzzing grants temporary fob floor access in the elevator.

    The concierge stops everyone and asks for the real first and last name of the resident, the first name of the guest, unit number, and then calls the resident to ask if they are expecting a guest and if they should be sent up if the guest tries to sneak in behind someone without buzzing.

    Unless they are buzzed in by the buzzer code system or fobbed up by concierge, each floor is Key fob access only.

    I say it's up to you how you wish to go about it, but I wouldn't offer to grease the concierge. These guys usually are by the book and fear losing their job.

    The best way to avoid this issue with condo management is to just laugh and say "I'm a single girl, I like variety"

    There's no way they can have you thrown out without illegal activity, noise complaints, or reasonable cause.

    Being "single and mingling" isn't a good enough reason to kick you out.

    I'd much prefer a less-lavishly appointed building with no security concerns, over a more 'luxurious' building with concierge and sign-in requirements.

    The first step you must take is to contact the municipality in which you are thinking of living and confirm it is zoned for a home business. Individual condominium buildings also have bylaws, regulations, rules and declarations that all owners must abide by.

    the Condo corp may have an issue with your activities too
    Are you living there as your primary residence?..or Subletting? dress it up anyway you want but you're running a business out of the place..plain and simple
    best you research it a little more
