The World Cup (soccer) thing.
Blech!
Slightly off-topic (my inner Darts). Not an ugly trophy, but the absolute stupidest award in sports is the Rookie of the Year for the seniors golf tour. Rookies in general are usually younger, not fully developed physically or mentally and have less experience and so a good rookie's accomplishments deserve recognition. In golf, the rookies should probably dominate from the get go. They are not as decrepit physically as the older guys. They can hit it farther, have better hand control and vision for putting, more stamina (even for the travelling) etc. A rookie in seniors golf is the antithesis of a rookie in just about any other competitive sport. Rookies are always at a competitive disadvantage, but in seniors golf they have a significant advantage. (The only disadv. is that they don't know the courses.)
And how many rookies are there anyways? 3 or 4?
Pardon The Interruption.
