That's too bad I liked him too, I think they called him the cat..

In 2017 he was in a similar situation and recovered, so there's hope.

I heard on twitter this morning, Jesse Barfield tweeted out. So sad. I hope he recovers and finds the kidney transplant that he needs. Tony was a fan favorite and a defensive whiz at SS.

yes, sad news, one of my all time favs, along with Dave Stieb.

I remember when the Jays reacquired him during their 1993 title run.....a huge contribution down the stretch as he could still hit and brought offense to the bottom portion of the lineup.

I always thought his impact was close to Rickey's.

Very sad. Condolences to his family and friends.

Both he and Doc Halladay passed way too young.

Real sad.
Seemed like a good person as well as a great player.
RIP.

He died near his winter home in Florida getting the best healthcare money can afford.

Sadly it wasnt enough.
