We don't know what caused the crash, the report says it was in Calabasas California. Due to it's geography LA is prone to low pressure downdrafts. I Googled Casabasal, it abuts next to coastal hills that separate LA from Ventura, the area is State parks. If the pilot didn't react in time...

His daughter Gianna has been confirmed from what I have read.
That is incredibly sad, a young man and his child gone!

One story I saw on him showed how he would take a helicopter to Lakers games to beat LA's traffic. It's nice to have the $$$ to travel that way but man that's a lot of flights

The helicopter hit a mountain. I listened to the control tower feed. There was a lot of fog in the area. Prior to the crash the helicopter was circling for 15 minutes before moving forward to the intended destination due to other planes in their flight path.

RIP to him, his daughter and all the victims in that helicopter.

Probably will not see another player for a very long time to have his mentality, devotion to the sport and focus to their career and can bring joy to the fans.

Anyone deserve a second chance and he is willing deal with his mistake.

Seeing someone die in any accident at age of 41 with their 13 years old daughter along with others is not easy. Let’s just be kind and wish they move on to good place.
