I was in a store yesterday and the cashier was speaking with two women, Caucasian, and they were talking about the corona virus. The customers mentioned that they should never have let that man into Canada who had the virus and should stop all flights from China. The cashier then saw me next in line and the two women glanced over and saw me and immediately their conversation stopped. The same cashier served me next and appeared a bit embarrassed about their conversation.

How many infected have already left Wuhan? Where are they heading? Not all infected will be coming from that city. Some will probably come from HK, Beijing, and any other neighboring cities and countries... That's how SARS spread too. Locking down two major cities where it came from could minimalize it but it won't stop the spread.
They are right. Even the Mayor of Markham says that not enough is being done at the airport to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. It's a no-brainer. But polite, politically correct Canadians would not take these kind of measure that other countries, including the US, would.
