Here's a lesson he hasn't learned in his fancy private schools: know your audience.
His audience can't do math. He needs to clean up this mess.

Private schools aren't fancy. They are better.

Don't hate them because you are stuck in a shitty public system.

Care to back that up with some evidence?

The only jurisdictions that have had success with mandatory e-learning are ones where they have added staff, not decreased them.
So is your issue with adding staff to run them properly or not believing that they are actually useful to improving education?

His boss can't do math.
I was raised in the public system and I am doing quite well as far as education, career, and money goes.
The reality that you don't grasp from your mom's basement is that MOST people are in the public system, full stop... so if we want society to thrive, then the public system needs to be the best. And the person to do that is NOT someone who has never stepped foot into a public system classroom.
I'm sorry that you can't comprehend that... I can give you information, but I can't make you turn it into knowledge.

Lecce is a minister at 33 years old. You are crying on an adult board and bragging about your public education. That's funny.

Rather than whine, why not focus on improving public education to bring it to the same standard as private? ie get rid of the unions, hire teachers based on performance and skill. Have schools compete to attract the best teachers.
Fund students and give them a choice where to spend it rather than hand money over to the unions and dead wood teachers.

1)The focus for now is on not making it worse by implementing Ford's plan of 4 e-courses.

2)How many of these admittedly good quality private schools have the students taking 4 e-courses?

Ford already pulled back and said its only 2 online courses after the initial backlash, just as he said he wouldn't make class sizes quite as big as he wanted.
He's already admitted he's wrong, not its just a matter of getting him to cancel all his foolish plans.

As usual, your comments make no sense.
Were you drinking when you posted this?
Seriously... literally NONE of it makes sense.
The public school system... should be fair for all... everyone gets the same shot at a good education.
Compete for the best teachers? Were you dropped as a child?

My issue is using it as an excuse to save money. The Ford plan for elearning is for LESS staff to be involved, not more like the programs that have been successful. I have absolutely no issue with the idea of elearning but considering the age of the students, it should be as a supplement to learning, not a replacement for it.

I'm pretty sure that's what we're doing when we criticize Ford's attempts to cut costs.

And you might not be aware that private schools have smaller class sizes while Ford is making larger ones. A quick search of the internet has UCC with a MAXIMUM class size of 22 while Ford wants an average of 25-28 with no class caps. You might also be surprised that the big private schools pay the same as the public system and also contribute to their pensions. The only difference is private school teachers don't have job security.

It’s not class size that’s the problem. Look around the world and you’ll be surprised that class sizes proposed by the government are not out of line.
If you are concerned about the quality of education then get rid of the unions.
Private schools may contribute to pensions but no differently than how private companies do it via RRSP contributions. Difference is tax payers are not funding it as well as the ridiculous number is sick days being abused that ultimately cost the system.
The seniority system also negatively impacts students and new teachers and education in general.
So if your argument is the quality of education the unions aren’t helping.
We can’t afford that system any longer.

And when you are comparing pay, private teachers make less. You need to factor in everything not just salary.

Then why is Ford trying to make classes bigger but already backed down once on the issue?
So he wants to make them bigger and you lose your shit. He compromises and suggests making them smaller and you lose your shit.

Proof that it doesn't really matter what he does because you just hate him regardless. Everything else is just window dressing for your biased hatred.

Why is he backing down if it was such a great and popular idea, fake news?
Answer the question.

Even with his compromise he's still making them bigger.

Some are bigger by a few students, some are smaller, some stay the same. Not a big deal...don't fall for the union propaganda.
Class sizes around the world are on par or bigger than what they are asking for.
