Ok, whatever. Some people think Dubas overpaid for Nylander...
Ok, whatever.
There we have it, the core of RockyDarts argument on anything.
Ok, whatever. Throw shit against the wall, and see what sticks.
Ok, whatever.

William Nylander, overpaid?
This is patently absurd.

Shouldn't you be sitting on a porch somewhere slinging rocks at passersby?

Only a genius could figure out that the field goal needs to be eliminated from football and that every injury in a non-contact sport is probably due to overtraining. Did I get those right RockyDarts?

The Circle Jerk strikes again. Why would any intelligent, rational and classy human ever listen to you three? Yes, the Leafs overpaid and overpaid and overpaid.

Leafs are shit end of story ,, I would go as far to say is the organization is a fucking joke
I bet a weeks wages they don’t make the playoffs and if they do another first round lose
Nylander will become invisible again they will double team Matthews ( probably get a few goals ) double team Marner ( to small for hard playoff hockey )
Horrible hockey team

That is true of the "Gang of 3" who think as one and will not tolerate anyone who hold different views.

Diversity of views is good and we need more members with different views to post. Right now the "Gang of 3" dominate almost every thread in the Sports Forum.

The guy posts nothing but Leaf hate. He is a troll. We have our difs but you are not a troll. You are not intentionally trying to piss people off like this guy does.

Let’s revisit this thread once the season is over and they don’t make the playoffs or they get kicked in the first round again ok you sensitive bunch of pussies ,, keep you eye on Washington
Stupid stupid leafs fans you never ever learn and zero hockey knowledge ,,, I may be a troll in your minds but I at least played the game up into junior ( definitely not good enough to even get drafted ) but at least I know the game and players .
From your comments you all respond from a place of emotion and not logic

I think this thread, this forum and this board will be better served if we just stick to the issues and eliminate all the trash talk. Here are the issues as I see them.

1) Is the team properly structured. My answer is no.
2) Will the Leafs make the playoffs? My answer is maybe/maybe not? Even before the season started, I saw the Leafs as a borderline playoff team.
3) If the Leafs make the playoffs, can they go deep? My answer is no. Not physical enough and the 3rd and 4th lines under Keefe are getting even less ice time now.
4) Should the Leafs trade one of their forwards to get defenseman and/or a backup goalie? Yes, if they can.
5) Do the Leafs have enough cap room in 2020, 2021 and 2022 to re-sign all the players they need/want? My answer is no.

Note: If the Leafs don't win the Cup during Matthews current contract, he becomes an UFA on July 1, 2024 and the whole process starts all over again.

Of course, all my answers are strictly speculations and opinions based strictly on how I see the Leafs. Maybe other people have better speculations and opinions.

And if people stay on topic and are able to maintain intelligent discussions and are able to back up their claims when asked and admit when they can't. I'm all for that.

This is correct, let's all stay on topic and discuss Guy Lapointe and Steve Shutt.

I thought Kap was traded mid game when no one could see where he got injured.

Hutchinson and Speeza have been playing well lately and both will be UFA's on July 1st and will likely be seeking raises if the Leafs want to re-sign them.

I think virtually every player entering UFA status is looking for a raise. D'uhhh.

Who is Speeza?

Jason Spezza, on the other hand, has career earnings over $88,000,000.
He knows his career is winding down, he's enjoying playing at home.
I don't think another big $$ deal is in the cards for a soon to be 37 year old 4th line centre.
Hutchinson is a replacement level NHL goaltender, guys like him make $700K to $1.4M.

Much ado about nothing.
