Hillary Clinton on Bernie Sanders: "Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him"

Hillary Clinton makes her feelings clear about Sen. Bernie Sanders in a new documentary about her career, saying that "nobody likes him" and "nobody wants to work with him," per The Hollywood Reporter.

Driving the news: In an interview with the outlet about Hulu's forthcoming "Hillary," the former secretary of state didn't let up about her 2016 primary opponent, refusing to commit to endorse and campaign for the Vermont senator should he win the Democratic nomination this cycle.

She goes even further in the documentary, claiming that Sanders "got nothing done." and calling him "a career politician."
"It's all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it," she added.
What she's saying
On possibly endorsing Sanders: "I'm not going to go there yet. We're still in a very vigorous primary season. I will say, however, that it's not only him, it's the culture around him. It's his leadership team. It's his prominent supporters. It's his online Bernie Bros and their relentless attacks on lots of his competitors, particularly the women."

"And I really hope people are paying attention to that because it should be worrisome that he has permitted this culture — not only permitted, [he] seems to really be very much supporting it."
On if a woman can become president: "I think [that sentiment] is untrue, which we should all say loudly. I mean, I did get more votes both in the primary, by about 4 million, and in the general election, by about 3 million."

"That's particularly true with what's going on right now with the Bernie campaign having gone after Elizabeth [Warren] with a very personal attack on her. Then this argument about whether or not or when he did or didn't say that a woman couldn't be elected, it's part of a pattern. If it were a one-off, you might say, 'OK, fine.' But he said I was unqualified. I had a lot more experience than he did, and got a lot more done than he had, but that was his attack on me."
"I just think people need to pay attention because we want, hopefully, to elect a president who's going to try to bring us together, and not either turn a blind eye, or actually reward the kind of insulting, attacking, demeaning, degrading behavior that we've seen from this current administration."

Hillary is a two-time loser, at this point she should just shut up.

With her overwhelming popularity among millennials, AOC will run in 2024.

I guess that she really, really dislikes him. LOL! I wonder how she feels about Obama? I'm guessing it's not much different.

I don't doubt it. Were it not for Obama, there's absolutely no doubt that she would have been elected. McCain was entirely beatable.

AOC's overwhelming popularity with millennials is probably more than offset by her lack of popularity with baby boomers. The baby boomers will be around for quite a few years more.

As Winston Churchill once supposedly said, "If you’re not a liberal when you’re 25, you have no heart. If you’re not a conservative by the time you’re 35, you have no brain."

This may well be the best endorsement he has.

He can take the gloves off now. If he chooses. Or take the high road.

First Warren, now Clinton. Clueless.

HRC is justly angry at him for failing to do much to rally his people in 2016 once it became clear that she was going to be the nominee. He offered som perfunctory support but that was all and his vigorous support may have made a difference.

I suspect what Hillary says is probably true insofar as Bernie is not a particularly likeable guy and he does not work well with others. I was listening to Morning Joe today as they were discussing this story and both Joe Scarborough (former Congressman) and Claire McCaskell (former Senator) both served in Congress with Bernie and both kinda confirmed what Hillary was saying although they were much nicer about it. They state that Bernie is not a “warm and fuzzy” guy and that he is not interested in schmoozing with his peers.

In my view, people like Bernie kinda have to be that way to survive. Bernie is a trail blazing socialist in the US- for most of his career in politics his views would have been considered extreme, kooky, and eccentric by mainstream America. Hence, to take an “outsider” kinda position like that, you cannot be the kind of person who is sensitive to criticism and overly concerned with what others think. You have to be kinda abrasive and not give a shit what anyone else has to say because you know with absolute clarity that you are right and everybody else is wrong.

The problem for people like Bernie is that once elected his personality style does not lend itself well to governing where you have to compromise, build consensus, and work with other people. That’s why he doesn’t have much legislation that he has actually been able to pass...and that’s why for every Dem who supports Bernie there is another Dem who thinks he’s a dick.

I Love this narrative.

He did 37 rallies for her, endorsed her at the convention

He showed up in Michigan when she didn't.

So much for that ol' party unity, we can't attack eachother bather eh?

She lost because she was a shitty candidate, is a shitty person presently with a 36% approval rating, who ran a shitty campaign.

And this latest attack is because of three reasons. One she is being paid to do it. Two she fears the power loss if he takes the party nom. And three his win against Trump would seal the truth that the party made the wrong choice in 2016, etching her in history as a loser.

And 70% of voters approve of him.

This is only going to help him more.

Bernie may have done some campaigning for Hillary but his supporters did not turn out to vote for her. If Bernie is not the nominee, Bernie supporters are the kinda people that will either vote for Trump in anger or stay home and not vote at all. In fairness, that’s not really Bernie’s fault but that’s how his followers are.

Like I said perfunctory. He could have done much more to rally his base.

I don't think that they would have voted for Trump. They likely stayed home or voted for Jill Stein the Green candidate.
