Netflix as picked up Kim's Convenience. Keeping up the Canadian tradition of cultural mosaic shows that began with King of Kensington.

I watched a few shows, the cast is very simpatico, led by stand up comic Paul Hyung Lee as Appa. Even though Simu Lui has joined the MCU, I hope he'll stick around, Shang Chi wont be aired until 2021.

Didn't know that Marvel has been producing the Shang-Chi series of comics since early 70's. He's a Chinese 007,who gains superpowers and becomes a member of The Avengers.

Simu Lui is a stage veteran before he joined the cast of Kim's Convenience. Imho he's an inspired choice by Kevin Fiege, he has both the look and the acting chops.

Don's supposed to be an aficionado of Oriental women, has he ever spot lighted Andrea Bang?

She's sweet!

I hardly watched any of the Pyeongchang Olympics, I missed her featurettes.

I watched a couple of episodes early last year. Going to sign up to CBC Gem to watch it from the beginning. The MCU casting piqued my interest.

Simu is a recurring guest of the LA based Wong Fu Channel.

I figured she'd be popular, sweet girl.

There are numerous clips she made for the Winter Olympics.

On the corner of Queen and Simcoe to the right of The Rex.
Commendatore, what is that corner in reference to? Not sure I know what you mean. A particular episode perhaps?

The exterior of the actual store is at Queen East & Seaton Street (one block East of Sherbourne). You often see tourists taking pics there. The interior scenes are all done in a studio.

It even shows up on Google Maps.

Marichal Don, I usually just wing it on entertainment threads, if I make a mistake others will correct it.

Kim's Convenience reminds me of King of Kensington, a very under-rated show. Al Waxman played the Jewish every-man convenience store owner. Chichillo was on a roll as Duke, he did very well shilling for Primo Foods. Then he got dinged by the CRA for tax evasion and buggered off back to Napoli. He hasn't been heard from since.

Will people start complaining if I post more Andrea featurettes? She has nice tootsies.

Now that the Skywalker saga has concluded, the most anticipated movie I'm waiting to see is "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" in 2021. Shang-Chi was most definitely inspired by Bruce Lee and the comics hit the stores right after "Enter the Dragon" was released. I am looking forward to seeing Tony Leung as the villain, more so than Simu Liu. Tony didn't learn martial arts until he was 46 years old when he took on the main role of Ip Man (Bruce Lee's teacher) for "The Grandmaster".

BTW, in case anyone has never seen a Bruce Lee movie on the big screen. Here's your chance to see "Enter the Dragon" at the Cinesphere which is Toronto's biggest screen and theatre.
