Okay. For about a year now, Barefax has been forcing a $5 fee on booth "rental" for each transaction upstairs after 7pm. Not during the day, during the week.
If you go up once and spend an hour with a lady, it costs $5.
If you spend the same amount of time between 4 ladies, $20.
They started out saying it was to cut down on disagreements because they would record time and boooth. They aren't even keeping up this tiny pretence anymore. If the girl isn't there to take your money, pay the DJ.

Last night I tried a little experiment. I paid to get upstairs, then just had the girls cycling into my booth one after another. I got away with that a few times before someone noticed and said I had to pay each time. When pressed, they didn't really even have a rule or set of rules, they just wanted the money.

I said, "fuck that" and left. A couple of ladies were unhappy about that because a stupid $5 fee cost them a hundred dollars or more each. They would have paid the fee, but I said that wasn't the point.

This was after confusing the bouncers downstairs. I had come in without a jacket, having left it in the car. One bouncer wanted me to pay a cover, but the other recognized me and thought I had been in previously. He let me in with no charge. I don't know if he was just confused or was giving me preferential treatment because I'm a regular. However this is the same guy who wouldn't let me use the upstairs ATM without paying the $5 fee last time.

For my fee, I'd like to see the booths cleaned between uses.

If I feel like venturing out at night in the future, it'll be Pigale's or Playmate

Question: do they have this ridiculous surcharge on weekends as well?

I hate that nickle and dime crap. I only go during the day so it doesn't affect me, but if they ever extend it I'd be done with the place. It makes me think of when they had some guy in the bathroom handing out paper towels and expecting a "tip" for the service. Gah.

Here is an example from a dancer's perspective. This came up when I was discussing the topic with her.

She was having a disagreement with a customer, so went to the woman at the desk to see how much time had elapsed. She said that her client claimed 3 songs, but she counted 4. She was told, "If you say it's 4, then it's 4."

Even SHE was shocked by that attitude. However, she isn't a scammer.

I suppose I understand how that works. If there is a paywall to even get upstairs that serves no purpose other than to extract money, then anyone else who is up there to make money will be given the benefit of the doubt. Otherwise, it hurts the business model. I mean, they obviously aren't taking $5 from me to help me out. I know that FOR SURE now.

i haven't been to this strip club in a long time but if I suddenly decided to go and this was going on I would stop going altogether. It might be good on the short term for the business itself to get more money but long term? Unless everyone else follows suit I don't think it is a good idea.

Strip clubs already have enough problems getting people to come in the first place doing stuff like this will just further alienate clients.
