Best Food in Toronto?

I can tell you that there is no decent mexican food here in Toronto.

Japanese food here is subpar.

This is because the Mexican and Japanese population in Toronto is relatively sparse but there are many other groups here in the GTA to make for the availability ofreally great varieties of foods. Of course it can never be as good as the country of origin in many people's opinions.

Yes El Catrin in good food with a great Tequila selections. It has a fun and great atmosphere specially in the summer.

Benihana in the Fairmont Royal York is a very good Japanese restaurant.
There are a lot of great restaurants in Toronto it’s a haven for food lovers.

I totally agree with you on Mexican. But even though I'm not a big fan of Japanese cuisine I think that there are several very good Japanese restaurants. My personal favorite is Yamato in Yorkville.

I didn't know that those words could be used in conjunction with each other.

There are a couple of Mexican restaurants that I like, both of them more mom and pop style, modest in scale and in price, owned by Mexican immigrants. Como En Casa is on Yonge just north of Wellesley, and Mexico Lindo is in Scarborough at Birchmount and Huntingwood.

I like Zorro's better than La Castille. The menus are almost identical. La Castille may have a more interesting décor, but I think Zorro's has more personalized service. It's feels a little more "homey".
