When I look back to my long ago childhood I remember things that seem to out of place in this modern world. did anyone else play marbles? I always had a bag full of them and was fascinated by the swirling patterns inside the glass.

Obviously you would need to be of a certain age to relate to some of this :)

I suspect that many of our playground activities would be considered a health and safety if not legal exposure these days.

Cap Gun. You put a roll of caps in & pulled the trigger. It sounded and looked real... but in those days that was okay. BANG-BANG YOUR DEAD! No I’m not you missed me & that’s when the FIGHT started

I remember all those things . When it came to marbles the ones that were made of steel were very popular . In other words Steel Bearings .

I had a yo-yo. And I still have marbles.
Please clarify. Do you mean you have some marbles or still have all of your marbles? :)

That got boring real fast.

We used to take a whole roll of "caps" and lay them on the concrete sidewalk and hit them full force with a hammer. LOL.

My parents didn't even bat an eye.

Today, they'd send such kids to psychiatric hospital for a full battery of tests and evaluations by 10 different shrinks followed up with 2 years of therapy.

I used to play with this imagining I was in a cow boys western movie with John Wayne.

We’d roll a bunch of the plastic caps that came in little rings in paper and light them on fire so the whole thing would blow up. I also remember one time at my school, there was this one kid, I think he was severely autistic, and one kid shot at him with a cap gun. This kid freaked out, kicked a massive hole in the wall (like a several foot tall hole), then took off running down the hall, through the doors, and down the street. The principal had to chase him down in her car. Dude was just Forrest Gumping it down the road.

Yo-yos were a thing at my school for a while too, but they eventually got banned because kids started hitting each other with them. Apparently, kids are basically cavemen and anything you give them, they will eventually figure out ways to hurt each other with.

Those great old bench seats made romance a little easier.
