While the men from both team were battling each other for the puck in the goal crease, Nylander was just standing on the sideline watching like an interested spectator.
And....then what happened?

Actually, he was waiting for the puck to come free because he was in clear ice just outside the goal crease and in the perfect position to score his 2nd winning goal in 2 games and his 18th goal in the last 28. That's how it's done, Darts.

He's there to do exactly what he did on that play. That's why he makes so much $$$$$ and gets the big stats and all the winning goals.

At least he was honest about it unlike his groupies in here who are still furiously jerking off to it. That goal could have gone off his ass and they would have gone off the deep end.
He wasn't "honest". He was just reading from the script for how to do TV interviews. It goes...

1. Always downplay what you did yourself.
2. Always credit your team mates and say how great they are.
3. Always inject a little self-deprecating humour into the interview.

They're taught to say the script at every interview. They have media coaches who drill them in how to do it. They ALL say the same shit. You're the only guy in Canada who doesn't get it.

He could have said - "Clifford is a grinder with average skills who can't do the shit I do with my better instincts and greater skill level and he was useful in feeding me for yet another game winning goal." But he didn't.

Well, it just so happens that Nylander's take on it, matches up exactly to what happened on the ice for all to see.
What's happening to you man?

Being a Leaf fan my whole life, I would hear all the time how other fans thought Leaf fans were delusional and I was convinced they were clueless. Being on this board, I totally understand where they get that impression from.

I think that there a lot of people like that. Even when they see some results, it makes no difference to them. Facts are facts.

And in perfect position to bury the GWG. I used to call him Melander but he's been really impressive this year. If he keeps this up in years to come, his contract with a $7M cap hit is going to look like a steal.

Dart doesn't know what hockey sense is because he doesn't have any himself. He thinks it's just luck that the puck always seems to be where Nylander is.

That play the puck didn't actually bounce right to his stick but it was in the vicinity and he was prepared. It bounced behind him. He had to turn pivot and shoot quickly before the player got to him.

He had to float quickly to the puck.
I think that's more accurate.

And then the puck floated into the back of the net. That's why they call Willy a "floater"!

RockyDarts' problem is that he's a Hab fan. If Domi scored that goal it would have been because of the "Montreal system" and he'd be nominating him for the HoF. RD is just a Leaf hater.

I'd like to hear what that Montreal system is. He never explained it to us. He should also explain it to Bergevin and Claude Ruel aka Julien.

Post-1967 Montreal has won 10 Stanley Cups. Montreal will win the Cup again before the Leafs do.

In the 21st century, Montreal has met the Bruins 6 times in the playoffs and won 4 series.

2003-04 Eastern Quarterfinal Montreal 4-3 0-3 1-2 2-3 4-3 5-1 2-5 2-0
2007-08 Eastern Quarterfinal Montreal 4-3 1-4 2-3 1-2 1-0 5-1 4-5 0-5

2010-11 Eastern Quarterfinal Boston 4-3 0-2 1-3 4-2 5-4 1-2 2-1 4-3

Hmmm. It must hurt you to have to hold up the Leafs as the team that you using the illustrious Canadiens to compare with. Why don't you tell us how many they've won in the last almost 30 years. That seems pretty desperate.

Why did you stop the stats at 2014. That is 6 years that you left out.

Please tell us what the Montreal system that you talk about is. Why hasn't it worked for 30 years?

So Bergevin has had the run of the team since 2013, which by coincidence is the last year of the playoff "successes" you listed. Coincidence?

But I digress. After having 7 years to build an ideal team, he has to now start all over and do a rebuild. I have railed against the Blue Jays prez but even he hasn't done that badly. At least he hired a Francophone coach.
