....and Arizona countered with Adin Hill in net, an AHL call up.

It was Arizona's 3rd road game in 4 nights against a well-rested Leafs squad and it still had to go to overtime.

Coyotes had a disallowed goal in O.T.

Kinda dodged a bullet on this one.
It was the 5th game in a row against a team either out of the playoffs or on the bubble.
Don't treat Arizona like a shit team, they deserve more credit than you give them, Arizona forces skilled teams to play sloppy, they do this to the Oilers as well. McDavid hates playing against Arizona.

Now the Leafs have 3 games in 4 nights. Every NHL team experiences this, so I don't get your point.

Someone tell Darts, the Leafs are 7 points up on Montreal with 1 game in hand. And the 3 Montreal wins came off the Leafs second end of back to back games.

The point is Arizona was a tired team.
Is your point that it shouldn't put them at a disadvantage?

Arizona didn't look tired (I watched the game twice), they look just as fast as the Leafs. Kessel on the other hand. That guy has gotten fat and out of shape real fast but he did eat 100 hot dogs out of the Stanley Cup.

If Arizona doesn't get a pass for their loss after playing 3 out of 4 nights, why do the Leafs get a pass for losses too Montreal after back to back games?

I think Darts' underlying and relevant point is that Leaf fans have nothing to brag about.
As a Leaf fan I don't think we have anything to brag about so far, other than how good we look on paper.

Looking forward who will the Leafs lose in the expansion draft?
Looks like Engvall and Holl may have been signed to expose in the draft.
You have to expose 2 F and 1D signed through 2020 - 2021 with 40 games this year or 70 games between this and last year.
Kerfoot looks like he might be the other forward.

Of course, you're the only one that has clarity and objectivity.
Anyone that doesn't agree with you to the detail is a hater or gets harassed.
+1 This seems like a persistent theme on this board, particularly coming from the pool of long time members. Sense of entitlement and security breeds their bully mentality. Kind of takes the fun out of things on a pretty regular basis.

I think it's more a reflection of their characters than seniority.
You're right, it stinks up the joint.

We wouldn't be in this playoff race if we had a backup who could win a few games. Campbell looks like a good addition. Missing Rielly hasn't helped.

The Leafs may still lose this game, but I don’t think anyone can disagree that the Clifford fight gave the Leafs a lift as they played with a lot more emotions after.

Another possibility? Not sure if he meets the games played requirement.

"Maple Leafs re-sign Martin Marincin to one-year contract
theleafsnation.com › 2020 › 01/10
Jan 10, 2020 - The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Friday the club re-signed D Martin Marincin to a one-year contract."

P.S. It was nice to see Roman Polak (#45) out on the ice.

He's signed for 2020-2021 but doesn't have enough games under his belt.
He'ld have to play another 22 games this year, doubt it's going to happen.

Looks like Holl is the prime candidate then unless the Leafs sign one of Barrie, Ceci and Muzzin. Doubt Leafs will let Dermott go.
That Barrie is scary. He rushes in and Matthews ends up playing defense.

Hutchinson put on waivers.

not always sure...
Seeing more and more shootout attempts where the skater doesn’t appear to maintain clear forward progress.
I’d love to get an official interpretation of Artemi Panarin’s SO goal in Minnesota tonight.
It was hard not to watch it in slow motion and think, like... “Seriously?”

As far as I’m concerned they should just scrap the shootout and play 3 on 3. If still tied after 5 mins then each team takes turn for 2 mins 4 on 3 until one team wins. I’d like to see the game decided on team play rather on a skill contest. A lot of people criticize the “loser point” but I think that’s more legit than a “shootout point” as you should be rewarded for having played tied after regulation.

you should be rewarded for having played tied after regulation.
Which is different than football, baseball or basketball. Just saying.
