I rented a movie on their website that I couldn't find anywhere else.

They wouldn't let me watch on my Mac nor my windows 7 machine!

I threw 5 bucks down the toilet. That's like a few pumps on my favorite girl!

You can't watch content rented or bought from the Microsoft store on a Mac. I'm pretty sure it's the same thing with Apple TV; you can't watch their content on a Window PC. Microsoft and Apple are trying to keep people on their platforms.

Regardless, you should be able to request a refund on your rental because you could not watch it.

Consider installing gahnoo slash leenux.

On a serious note. You can install windows 10 enterprise ltsc 2019 and it lacks the bloat such as candy crush.

>also paying for digital online movies

OK, boomer.

There is this thing called peer 2 peer. People share file online for free its amazing.

I'm not computer savvy enough to screen all the viruses over torrents. I actually got a couple despite using virus scans.

Btw, check out Mutant Girls Squad. Classy Japanese movie - a better version of kill bill.

I heard that Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7 in January. I like Windows 7. What I should have done is partition my drive to keep Windows 7 and install Windows 10 when it was offered for free.

You can still get Win10 for free. I created an install disk using the link below. I haven't installed mine yet since I still use Win8.1. I'm not 100% on this, but I read that the install code from a previous legit version of Windows should work when installing Win10. I'll find out eventually.

Fantastic! Thanks. I'll give it a try. However, I still want to keep Windows 7 so I will have to partition the harddrive.

Yes, it is a legit Windows 7 with the COA but I am not the original owner. Would this cause any problems?

I found that installing a Roku box and using all the apps via the box by-passes all the other issues mentioned.

Everything is available.

You'd be trying to run both operating systems using the same code, so I can see that being an issue.

Yes, the more I think about it I can see issues as well. I've managed to have both Windows and Linux on the same drive but never tried haven't two Windows O/S's on the same drive. I thought about having a second drive for Windows 10 but that might not work either.

The thing is I love Windows 7 and have a lot of data already on it.

It appears to get Windows 10, I will have to sacrifice Windows 7 and migrate all my data from Windows 7 across to Windows 10.

Are all programs available on Windows also available on Mac?
Depends on what you use a computer fire. Most productivity applications like Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Chrome, etc are available on Mac and Windows.

If you're into games then you're better off on a Windows PC because Mac has very few games.

You can run 2 versions of Windows known as dual booting on the same PC, but it's quite a process to set it up.

malata is that another joke, Space may take it seriously.

Microsoft has steeped up their game since the MS Board pushed Steve Ballmer out the door. They stopped creating buggy platforms, basing their OS from W7 onward on Windows Explorer. You won't have any problems with W10, it's smooth, delete the games from the Control Panel. Since Satya Nadella became CEO, they've invested heavily on security, its far less buggy. I haven't had any problems streaming films on W10.

...I could tell you about how MS finally solved the plotting problem but I don't think you are interested.

You could always download every single version of MS software, back to the NT / 95 days

The free upgrade offer I am pretty sure has expired and you now need to buy a key to install the OS

You should have installed it first, then erased it, and your key would have been good for the PCs life

Unless they informed you that the video only ran on Windows 8 or 10, you should be able to get a refund.
With that said, the value of the time it would take to get the refund would exceed the $5 you spent. Even so, you should be updating to Windows 10 shortly, else your system will be vulnerable. They are ending support for Windows 7 shortly.
Microsoft will always pressure users to update to the latest OS, because they have a vested interest in you doing so, and not just so you buy the latest version. The more active operating systems they have, the more security updates they have to make.
