Congratulations to her, but is she going to inspire me to become more environmentally conscious? Hell no, I’m just a old fart who’s stuck in my ways and I’m not changing my lifestyle for anyone.
Inspiring others to adopt an environment-friendly lifestyle
isn't the objective of her (or more correctly her handlers). I didn't
notice any of her public speech ever call for people to stop
driving and flying. She does refrain from both and only indulges
in hitching ride on ultra-expensive sailing boat. But I
don't think
she ever asked the public to follow her low-carbon way of
living. In fact the public figures she mingled with
during her North American trip, Trudeau, DiCaprio,
Schwarzenegger and Ellen Degeneres are the worst of the
worst individual polluters of the environment.
So you don't really need to
change your lifestyle to be her fan. I imagine most of
the young folks who partook in school strikes inspired
by her would sign up for driving lessons like other
young teens before they finish high school.

With all due respect, thats not my point. I said it is fine to engage her in dialogue, to challenge her evidence.
She has Asperger's Syndrome. She cannot engage in
unscripted dialogue. Nor can she meet any challenge to
her evidence.

Even worse to be a grown man that is acting as a bootlicker to a misinformed and misguided 16 year old girl.
Call me a boot-licker to science then. She (like Gore) is not the one who is doing the science, merely helping spread the results.

Having known a bunch of high functioning Autistic people, they may not be comfortable sitting down and telling you the flaws in your logic but I'd be willing to bet she could put together a very thorough and well sourced written destruction of whatever 'facts' you want to challenge her with.

I had a 2 aspbergers working for me on the past. They can do both those things, but, they come out awkward, and there are other things that seem off like getting too deep on some issues that may not be the main issue. Aspbergers are over represented in academia. Autistics are much more difficult and, outside of Temple Grandin, have a much harder time doing what you've suggested.

I don't disagree with what you said about Autistic
people in general. I pointed to Greta's Asperger's
because it was used as the excuse of her inability to engage in meaningful exchange with people who merely
wanted to discuss the issue she addressed. Unless you
can show me any writing of her own on the climate
issue her ability to put together a written destruction
of my 'facts' is pure imagination on your part.

So do you actually think engaging Thunberg in a debate
and challenging her evidence in the climate summit which you seemed to have suggested is a good idea?

I do like what Greta has to say, but I also agree that she was taken advantage and although the below memes is sarcastic it goes to the point that I'm sure very few ever heard of 108 year old Saalumarada Thimmakka.

What's the big deal about Greta being chosen Time's person of the year? Adolph Hitler was chosen Time's Man of the Year in 1938 and we all know how that turned out.

This is science.....science, unlike many fields, is self correcting. That's because it is open to debate, and the debate is won with evidence not loudness. As they say at NASA...in God we trust...all others bring data. If you're debating an aspbergers then you need to do it gently. However, the "own the libs" crowd is usually theatre. Not to say the left doesn't have "theatre" either (they most certainly do lol). But imagine the debate - her point is "how dare you older people fuck up my generation's planet!" Is the opposite side "we can fuck it up all we want!" Or..."we're not fucking it up!".

The criteria of the TIME plaudit is someone who's made a major impact on the world for better or worse. Ayatollah Khomeini was chosen Man of the Year in 1979.

Well, the mask is off. She wants not woke enough leaders lined up against the wall. I wonder where she got that phrase from? Hateful little cunt.

You missed the point, dicky thinks Greta is as evil as Hitler and/or Trump as promoted by Time.
