Lately I have observed that some thermostats are either not connected to anything or are computer limited no matter how much you turn up the heat. Other thermostats seem to flat out lie.
The Prez was staying at the Northern Red House and trying to turn up the heat. Optimum cavorting temperatures are always a little higher than day to day temps. No matter how high I tried to run up the heat the wall unit registered 23.5 C and that was a big lie. There is no way that temp was 74.3 F.
There may be global warming but there seems to be involuntary hotel and condo cooling.
At the opposite end of the scale I once arrived at the South Tower of the old Park Hyatt. The air was cranked down to freezing temps. A beautiful visitor was due to arrive soon. They sent up a wise old Chinese maintenance man wearing a massive tool belt. He gave a hearty laugh and exclaimed, "Thermostat not connected to anything!" I asked to be moved to the newer North Tower before my guest arrived.
In the future I will be bringing an electric box heater. Wearing a sweater like Jimmy Carter is not the answer.
Helpful hint - To convert C to F multiply the C temp by 1.8 and then add 32 degrees. I still think C degrees are too big for precise adjustment.
