When Nathan was announced during the news broadcast, the above video was the first thing that came to mind. LOL
LOL I saw that interview live, Downer is an idiot, lucky Tyson didn't fuck him up physically.
Is that a Dr. Strangelove reference?Darts abd shack you're behaving like a pair of teenage girls, stop it before I go Slim Pickens on yah.

Nice comeback.CC doesn't drink beer, here's what he likes.
Yeah, Shaw is a voluntary retirement. He's also pulling a Lloyd Robertson, where he's no longer on-air everyday, but will do special interviews and/docs.I think there are some legal and semantics issues here. My understanding is that there are 3 categories of terminations.
1) Voluntary retirement
2) Termination with cause -- usually means no severance package
3) Laid off (let go)(de-hired) (JD - job discontinuence) -- this usually involves a severance package
In Ken Shaw's case, I assume it is voluntary retirement although he is still staying on for "special projects". However, I don't rule out JD which I think is what happened to Lance Brown and Joe Tilley last year as their jobs were discontinued.

Yes, that was obvious when they fired Lance Brown and Joe Tilley and they were never replaced. I thought the same would happen to the noon and supper time CTV NEWS and might still happen as Bell Media is also the owner of CP24.From people i know who work there, CTV is all about slashing payroll.
I only brought up the point because the differences between the types of termination are important in a legal sense. Then there's the Employment Standards Act to contend with, the exact wording of Shaw's contract, if he belongs to a union, etc.I think there are some legal and semantics issues here. LOL I saw it too, he's not the best choice.Saw that Mike Tyson interview live as well, to this day when i hear the expression " rat piece of sh#t" i think of Nathan Downer.
Classic tv moment, and it makes Nathan more legendary than Ken Shaw could ever hope to be, yet in the worst way possible.Saw that Mike Tyson interview live as well, to this day when i hear the expression " rat piece of sh#t" i think of Nathan Downer.
