This is all I think about when I hear Gord Martineau

Wow first time I've ever seen this. He really ran the show even behind the scenes like a Chad.
There are other clips (not sure if they are still around now) of him telling sexual jokes that would probably get him fired in to-day's "Me Too" environment. Also, the word on the street is that he threw his co-anchor Anne Mroczzkowski under the bus.

Both CTV and CP24 are owned by Bell Media. Wouldn't be a huge surprise if they scrap the noon and suppertime edition of CTV NEWS.

I'll miss him. He was an excellent news anchor.
Yes. I've watched him on CTV news for years. Why assume that he was let go? He wants to retire and do other things/play golf. How many men on this board have done (or plan to do) the same thing?

A great news anchor. :)

If he truly was let go then he wouldn't be able to make an announcement about it on air about it and wouldn't be hanging around for special projects. I am sure he negotiated a very nice retirement package for himself.

Two years ago Lance Brown and Joe Tilley also said on air that they were retiring when in effect they were let go. They have never been replaced. As for "special projects" time will tell.

No doubt.

Can you blame the networks? It costs a fortune to pay these anchors to read a Teleprompter in front of a camera. They have to read and talk which commands multi-million dollar salaries.

Tell us your version.
It was a thread about Danny Grant's passing and you said something like: Here's a trivia question. How did Montreal acquire Steve Shutt?

Here you go buddy boy. Eat crow:

more questions:2) How did Shutt (Toronto boy) end up with the Montreal Canadiens?
Don't try to justify or put a spin on. You continuously post shit completely out of left field that has nothing to do with the original topic. End of story.

Now you've done the same thing here posting unrelated drivel about Gord Martineau in a thread meant to recognize Ken Shaw's long career and now we are getting more posts about Martineau. Thread derailed by you.

Get over yourself because everyone else here has a long time ago.

By being "let go" I meant terminated with cause. Matt Lauer and Don Cherry were both terminated for that reason and they never announced anything on-air.
I think there are some legal and semantics issues here. My understanding is that there are 3 categories of terminations.
1) Voluntary retirement
2) Termination with cause -- usually means no severance package
3) Laid off (let go)(de-hired) (JD - job discontinuence) -- this usually involves a severance package

In Ken Shaw's case, I assume it is voluntary retirement although he is still staying on for "special projects". However, I don't rule out JD which I think is what happened to Lance Brown and Joe Tilley last year as their jobs were discontinued.

Now that I have, it is no surprise that you aren't honourable enough to admit that I proved you wrong and that you lied about what happened in that thread on Danny Grant.

It defies rationality why you keep beating a dead horse.

Here verbatim is my post from the Danny Grant thread. It simply asked a question whether Grant and Shutt ever played together.

"He was a bit before my time. The old geezers said he played with Shutt and O'Shea as juniors. Or, was it Redmond and O'Shea?"

You and you alone ever complained about Shutt. Nobody else in that thread complained then nor since.

You and you alone are the only member who complained in this thread about Gord Martineau. Nobody else has complained. In fact, one member actually posted a video of Martineau.

You and you alone complained about my post in CC's "Who Is That Person" thread, nobody else complained. In fact, the OP of that thread said I'm welcome to post in the thread he started.

Apparently, Ken Shaw's replacement will be announced at 6:00PM. Anybody want to hazard a guess?

The dead horse is how you cannot stay on topic and derail threads. All are perfect examples. And I posted your verbatim post. It had nothing to do with Grant. Absolutely nothing.

It is 2019. Sure as hell won't be another dull ass white dude with hair plugs.
Ok, that narrows the field a bit. There is all kind of speculation on social media about the replacement. Someone actually mentioned Nic Dixon.

I watch Global News quite a bit. The two co-anchors are a woman (of colour) and a white male.
