Hello Gentlemen,

It's Asian Nicole. After a long absence, my darling opera professor and I are finally back in the saddle and together to see a famous show- Cats on Wednesday night, December 4th at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Downtown, Toronto.

Cats, the record-breaking musical spectacular by Andrew Lloyd Webber that has captivated audiences in over 30 countries and 15 languages, is now on tour from November 27 to January 5, 2020 at Mirvish in Toronto. This time, they make this production a new Cats for a new generation!

Cats is a sung-through musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber based on the 1939 poetry collection Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot. It tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make the "Jellicle choice", deciding which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life. The musical includes the well-known song "Memory".

Lloyd Webber began setting Eliot's poems to music in 1977 and the compositions were first presented as a song cycle in 1980. Producer Cameron Mackintosh then recruited director Trevor Nunn and choreographer Gillian Lynne to turn the songs into a complete musical.

Cats won numerous awards including Best Musical at both the Laurence Olivier and Tony Awards; the original Broadway production opened in 1982 at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre, where it ran for 7,485 performances and 18 years.

The most famous song- “Memory,” is the bittersweet ballad which is the Winner of 7 Tony® Awards of the BEST MUSICAL. Despite its unusual premise which deterred investors initially, the musical turned out to be an unprecedented commercial success.

Bravo!! I love it! Thanks so much for the wonderful evening, my darling opera professor! This show was fabulous and such a great Memory!
