Canada loses 71,200 jobs in biggest employment drop in decade - Unemployment rate jumps the most since 2009 to 5.9%

The US is coming off another great month.

It would serve Justin well to show the us President more respect, as we really do rely on them as a neighbor.
There comes a point where selling out one’s values is simply not worth it. If we don’t stand up for ourselves, others will stop respecting us and, worse, we lose respect for ourselves.

This sounds like wisdom Oprah would bestow on her audience.

Values mean shit when you don't have a job and can't take care of your family.

Values are what have enabled us to enjoy the economic and social gains that we have made over the years. If we start selling ourselves out then we wind up like Saudi Arabia or Russia. Sometimes there is a cost for standing up for what you believe.

Trudeau won't sell out to the US but he'll sell out Canada's land, resources, services, and government to China.

That's not the Trudeau effect. That is down to the negativity of the Conservatives in the election campaign and the possibility (small as it was) that they might win.
Keep thinking that if it makes you feel better.
Question is, if the numbers keep sliding, are you still going to blame it on the "possibility that the PC's could have won"? How many months will you try and milk that one for?
OMFG

Which stock market and how many of those stocks are Canadian compared to somewhere else?
I usually ignore that other poster. I think he is referring to the TSX. However, the Dow and S&P are all time much higher.

Is that why we buy Saudi oil instead of Alberta oil?

If it comes down to being able to pay your mortgage or rent and putting food on the table vs standing up for values, 99% of Canadians would choose a roof over their head and being able to pay for food.

Any would be PM who tries to change this arrangement would never get elected.
Yes, same if any PM orwanna be PM who tries to nullify Bill 21. Currently, Trudeau needs the Bloc's support to stay in office. Better the Bloc than the NDP.

how does that square with the arrest of the Chinese cell phone executive in Vancouver ?

Of course because China will protect Canada militarily. Oh wait, that's the US that Canada relies on to defend them. Oops
