I have no idea why you are talking about hiring more teachers as it has absolutely nothing to do with the current situation. The situation is the government claims it is improving education by making average class sizes larger and removing limits on class size.
It has everything to do with the union’s propaganda that 10,000 teachers have been fired.
Zero have been fired. Most of those were positions that “would have been hired”.

Average class size increase is another propaganda technique by the union. Some will be less some increase by 1-2 students.

University classes have hundreds of students and also leverage online learning quite successfully.

Unions want more members. Members mean more money. This has nothing to do with education and has everything to do with money.

Teachers were laid off, even if they weren't full time.
You are wrong again.

No full time teachers were laid off. Accept it and stop spreading fake news.
Surplus teachers and others were laid off because they were not needed...every wonder why they call them surplus?

Never been in a union but I'll assume that union dues are a simpler answer than any crazy conspiracy theory you want to promote.

And where do union dues comes from?
And how do you make more money through union dues if the number of teachers does not increase?

Are you starting to understand how this works?

You keep saying that but...

https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/20...cuts-left-frustrated-by-uncertain-future.html
TDSB alone says 109 full time teachers lost their jobs and a bunch more who were forced from full time to part time.

You also must have done your math online because you have no understanding what average means. The latest government proposal was to increase the average class by 2 and eliminate limits on how many kids there could be.

This article proves that they are playing around with numbers and perpetuating lies.
Is it 109 or 155?
80 being recalled?

It is mixing surplus teachers who are not full time with full time. It's a phony shell game the union is playing to try and get sympathy and support.

In the real world, if an organization lays off 1000 people they are gone. Not in the teacher world where there are so many convoluted roles that they are just lumping everyone in as if they are a full time teacher.

Even though it's not true, 109 out of 160,000 has you panicking? OMFG

Too bad you're wrong with any of those numbers since you claimed none were laid off.
Poor fake news, wrong again.

With your literacy skills, I can see why you are angry about teachers. 109 is the number of full time teachers. 155 is the number of teacher equivalents including full time teachers reduced to part time and part time teachers let go. Also the number is specifically for the Toronto board in high schools, not the province.

And I'm still laughing at you conspiracy about the Union trying to profit by hiring more teachers when they are simply fighting to keep average class sizes smaller.

Looks like you have had too much kool aid so there's no helping you.

Not sure if you are a teacher but if you are, you may want to use more of your "sick" days that cost the province $650 million...you know...because it's all about the quality of education for students.
What a farce...and you believe it.

Are they teachers or not?
Not really...otherwise they would have full time jobs. No one takes substitute teachers seriously. They just fill in when the full time teachers call in sick...over and over and over.
ie they're babysitters.

I think you are done asking questions.

Teachers, hired by the boards and paid by them, don't count as teachers to you unless they are full time?
you really are a boob.
Why hire part time teachers?
Is it because of all the excessive "sick days" teachers are taking costing the province $650 million?

Too many "support" workers. We can't afford this any longer.

I know. How dare I rely on facts published instead of just relying on an unsubstantiated bias.

p.s. Changing the topic once again is sure proof that you've completely lost the argument about teachers losing their jobs.

Why hire part time teachers?
To tutor people who aren't smart enough to get the basics, like.....

Music teachers, dance teachers, robotics or other courses that don't justify having full time teachers are quite often taught by part time teachers.

Do you means those subjects the students aren’t learning today because they are at home while the teachers are on the picket line wanting more money but masking that with bs about the quality of education?
And it’s all about education?
What a joke.
