Thread: Law enforcement posing as an escort.

Law enforcement posing as an escort.

As you can see, I am new member, learning from my many mistakes. Someone on here has mentioned that this is not a no risk hobby, and I agree wholeheartedly.

There are the usual risks of social stigma, brothel sprouts, SO finding out, etc. But what is the specific risk with regard to LE? What are the penalties for first time offenders? What is the likelyhood of LE posing as an escort? What needs to be kept in mind from an LE perspective? Before putting the money down, what can one check, if anything, to de risk the LE aspect?

    TIA.

LE doesnt usually care about "legitimate" providers. They are more focused on human trafficking. So as the previous poster stated, stick with legitimate SPs or MAs. Go on twitter and keep an eye on reviews here. Observe and learn for awhile.

The only busts that happen in Ottawa these days are people looking for underage girls, people involved in trafficking and street walkers. As long as you're not doing anything awful like that you are good .

Has an entrapment ever been done in Ottawa by cops?

I lived in the byward market many years ago when street walkers were rampant (remember Melos?). Once every six months or so you'd walk by and the regulars were gone, replaced by a smoking hot girl (who was in fact a cop). I also had a friend who was municipal police. She was very pretty and sometime would do stings as a street walker. She busted some pretty prominent people hahahaha. I don't think there are many (any?) street walkers left. Stay away from them regardless you should be fine. Also, the law in Ontario (from what i recall) states that a man cannot solicit a woman for sex (in exchange for money), but a woman (or provider) can solicit a man. So just make sure she's the one offering and you're also fine.

Yes, but as soon as I put the donation down, then I am the one soliciting. I would be happy if she does not go anywhere near it for the duration of the visit, but just let it sit there.

I suppose it would be too risky for the providers to wait till after the fact for the transaction to take place.

I am not aware of any escort stings being undertaken in Ottawa, however if OPS wished to do so, they would be acting entirely within the law if they did. The issue is that police agencies in Canada have broad discretionary powers to decide what laws to enforce, and how they will enforce them. While many Sheriffs in the US love nothing more than launching a slew of escort stings and plastering the local media with pictures of the offending parties ("these men came from al walks o life, they were hüsbánds, fathers, lawyers etc." is the line in the police manual about men who choose to not debase themselves on dating apps and the like and enter into a contractual agreement with an SP, involving consenting adults in the overwhelming majority of situations.

Canadian police chiefs, who aren't up for re-election every four years, in the main, take a more pragmatic approach, focusing on human trafficking, itself a major bogeyman, the seriousness of which is overblown by several orders of magnitude (including the fiction that the Super Bowl and other major sporting events are epicentres of trafficking, which has been thoroughly debunked). I recall that the London (Ontario) police have been doing stings from time to time, also on the premise of human trafficking.

LE studies the local escort/SW scene quite carefully (including review boards) for signs of trafficking/minors and investigates appropriately, which they should.

Stings going after plain old "punters" involving consenting adults? Again, I'm not aware of any cases (John sweeps are highly publicized for the public deterrent effect, so one would assume that stings would similarly be reported). But if OPS wanted to do it, they'd be entirely within their rights.

A donation for someone's time is not soliciting. Hence that's why we donate. Also why we ask SPs what they 'like'.

An escort is paid for her time as a companion. If you have sex with her in legal terms you got lucky.

If you communicate with her to have sex in exchange for money or something else well that's illegal.

I would love to walk into an incall to an escort dressed as a cop!

There is no way that the cops are doing stings for online escorting. They don't have the resources to waste their time with that kind of thing. However, they do do busts on the street, and rightly so because people complain about that kind of thing in their neighbourhoods and the cops will put resources into stopping that.

I'm still skeptic about your affirmation because a friend of mine witnessed a guy being arrested in front of him after that guy proposed to a prostitute on the market in Ottawa. This hot blond girl was in fact a police officer.
That is why I take all kind of precautions before making any kind of arrangements!

Was this a street walker, or was this arranged online and then a visit to some place?
