    Uber Etiquette

When travelling as a solo, do you jump in the front seat or head to the back?
If a cab, I always sit in back.
Any different when getting into a Uber driverís private car?
    Just wondering.

In oz single male traveller cab or uber sit up front. In North America I'm about 50/50 In uber as far as sitting up front. Prefer that, but if the driver has all sorts of gear splayed out on the passenger seat then I go back seat.

I sit in the back. It's the safest place in a car.

I don't think there is a defined etiquette. However, if I were a driver, I'd see someone sitting in the front as a sign they'd like to converse, whereas sitting in the back they may want to be left to themselves.

I usually crawl in the trunk and tell the driver to wake me when we get there.

If you are female get you in the back and open the window so that you can escape when some one assaults you.

On a similar note, what are the odds of booking a very short ride with Uber and actually getting picked up?
I am going to do a few days downtown with my elderly father. We are planing on a couple of Jays games, Hockey Hall of Fame, Cn tower etc. I know none of that is much of a walk but he’s almost 80 and has bad legs so a 20 min walk is out of the question. Will Uber actually pick up a short fare of about a km or so? I plan on giving the guy and extra few bucks every time for the hassle.

If they don't pick me up I just give them the worst rating.

There's a minimum charge, so they'll likely pick you up.

I use Uber a lot when traveling except in Toronto where rent a car - although ride to and from the Phoenix airport with Uber. The app is so handy and never have to weight long.

In June 2019 was in Frankfurt Germany for 10 days (Fkk clubs etc). Even though they have great public transportation and my hotel was close to the main train station I preferred Uber all over. I even used on short hops with no problems or objections. For one FKK club I used their Limo service but Uber to the pick up point which was not that far from hotel. I had an infected ingrown toenail so didn't want to walk too far. ALthough I did visit castles and worked a lot at tourist sites.
