One has nothing to do with other.Awwww so that is why their record is so stellar and the future looks so bright!:spit:
Well why has it been fading in the past?I listened to the interview with Mark from the Shatkins on Tim & Sid, and after he speaks I do feel more positive about the upcoming year and beyond. I just hope my optimism doesn't fade like it usually does.
Because what he says and what he delivers are two different things.Well why has it been fading in the past?
Just look at all the Cy Young candidates they signed this winterAwwww so that is why their record is so stellar and the future looks so bright!:spit:
Phil. Don't speak so fast.Just look at all the Cy Young candidates they signed this winter
Cy young candidates? on the 2020 Blue Jays ? Really? …….Oh.... were you being sarcastic? Phil never thought you would drop to that level! Sad so sad!Just look at all the Cy Young candidates they signed this winter
Can you elaborate a little on what there plan is? Because don't seem to know, and neither does Dawgger or Phil. From what I have seen, the Jays have done absolutely zero towards advancing their long term plan. They have hired only stop gap pieces. I know BBL is happy with that and I care not to initiate a debate on that.
What have they said they're going to do but haven't done?Because what he says and what he delivers are two different things.
Building a (perennial) contender using their flexibility. Can you elaborate a little on what there plan is? Because don't seem to know, and neither does Dawgger or Phil.
If they have a plan, I have no idea what it is. If you see a plan please let us know what it is and how long term it is. Their 5 years are up after the current season and you keep saying they have 5 years...….WELL?Can you elaborate a little on what there plan is? Because don't seem to know, and neither does Dawgger or Phil.
Any did they run the date by you when they were going to spend the money?Building a (perennial) contender using their flexibility.
Clearly you haven't been listening or watching. They inherited the oldest team in MLB with a big payroll and team that was at it's hype in terms of popularity. They tried to keep it competitive as long as they could knowing they were going to be stuck with big contracts that were going bog them down at some point. When it was finally clear that these guys were no longer good, they had to rebuild with a farm system that was absolutely depleted by AA. (nobody's blaming him as he went for it, almost won and gave this city the most fun until the Raps won) Regardless, these guys were left with mess. They basically said without actually saying this as you can't totally tell your fan base your going to suck for a few years as you rebuild, but what said was this:If they have a plan, I have no idea what it is. If you see a plan please let us know what it is and how long term it is. Their 5 years are up after the current season and you keep saying they have 5 years...….WELL?
Not that I documented it, but the years '20 and '21 have been regularly bandied about.Any did they run the date by you when they were going to spend the money?
I don't recall anybody here calling for those size of signings. Please show us a quote where somebody said we should have acquired them. You are delusional in that regard. When we talk about getting solid major leaguers we are not saying superstars.Oh! and one other nugget of info. All you guys that are complaining because big FA's like Strausberg and Cole didn't land in Toronto, those guys were never coming to Toronto. Probably would have had to pay them double to have a chance...lol. So getting these big FA's to come here is a problem on it's own.
Then Shack I really don't know what your complaining about. Your always griping that the don't spend money. What do you want them to do? Throw big money at guys like Justin Smoak??I don't recall anybody here calling for those size of signings. Please show us a quote where somebody said we should have acquired them. You are delusional in that regard. When we talk about getting solid major leaguers we are not saying superstars.
BTW, they have done what they've done since they've been here, which is make a bunch of cheap acquisitions and hope that can catch some lightning in a bottle. How has that worked out? The record has got worse each year.
Please tell us what you think is a reasonable time frame. This is year 5. And they have picked up no one who could be considered a part of a contending team. They won 67 games last year and are going sideways, cheap, patch jobs hoping they can win over 70. So that means 21021? '22, '23? How long are you willing to wait?
But I really want you to find posts here where people were saying Strasburg and Cole should have been signed. Take your time.
