This is what I have been asking for. This is the 1st serious signing they have made. An upper tier player for a significant number of years. All we have been getting is scrap heap short term parts
+1

Great signing!

Or, attach a young MLB player or top prospect to Price's trade.

Just musing....if things go sideways for the Blue Jays in 2020, can we Blame It On Ryu ?:behindsofa:
OR we can blame it on the people that signed him :behindsofa:

I'm okay with the Ryu signing. There wasn't much left out there. And their's no doubt he's got stellar stuff. Durability is a question mark. I think management was asleep at the switch though on Julio Teheran. He signed for $9.5M 1 year with the Angels. If I'm Atkins I sign him to a 2 year deal with an option for a 3rd for that AAV.

I doubt he would have taken it. It is obvious that the only reason he took a one year was to hopefully have a good year and prove himself and then sign a 4-6 year deal for significantly more than the 9.5M.

The Toronto Blue Jays avoid arbitration with each of their eligible players.
Ken Giles was final one to sign (1 year, $9.6Mm).

Not Blue Jays, but still, interesting:

Mike Trout leads baseball with 72.5 WAR since the start of the 2005 season.

Mike was in the 8th grade at that time.

LOL Where did you find that?
Twitter. I follow a few baseball statistics nerds.
One of them posted that.

Same guy is pounding the drum hard for Larry Walker to make the Hall of Fame.

Personally I think Blue Jays will surprise a lot of people this upcoming season.

He did get in: ... Are you saying he shouldnt have??
Heavens, no!
Larry Walker is a Hall of Famer.
I am shocked that it took 10 years for him to be elected.
He's one of the best I've ever seen play the game.

Plus he's Canadian. We've only got 2 of them now in the Hall of Fame (after Fergie Jenkins )
