Isn't there already a goal of the year thread. Anyway, this isn't any different than all the other spectacular goals he scores. Skates faster than defender shoots on goalie scores.
In another thread, I said I thought Matthews was the most exciting player in the game today.
What the fuck was I thinking?
I'm a Leafs fan but McDavid has to be my favorite player outside the Leafs. There is no doubt he is the best player in the NHL.

I think another poster said in another thread that both McDavid and Draisaitl have minuses in plus/minus numbers.
BTW: This year and last year (maybe in earlier years as well) both McDavid and Draisaitl are at the top or near the top in ATOI.

It was on Hutch a backup and Rielly was never known as a defensive juggernaut. Rielly gets beat by players not named McD as well. But that was just another one of McD's typical moves. His skating is at another level. In the history of the NHL who can you compare him to? Bure perhaps.
Most of us here I would assume are too young to remember but from some of the highlights and what old timers would tell me I think McDavid might be similar to Mr. Orr in ways. At least the end to end rush part of his game. From what I've seen #4 might have been a smoother skater than CM but I don't think he was as fast a skater. Bure is close but I don't think he skated as fast as CM either and the kid's stick handling is unreal. Unbelievable talent
