Some members might remember Kevin Donovan (and Robyn Doolittle) as the man (I mean person) who broke the Rob Ford cocaine scandal.

I saw Donovan interviewed on CP24 yesterday, He said he's interviewed over 200(?) people who knew the Shermans. He also interviewed police officers working the case and, understandably, were tight lipped.

Donovans's view is that the police are close to cracking the case or they will declare the case cold in the next few months.

Now there's a bold statement from someone who's interviewed hundred of people. A mental midget could come to that conclusion. In other words, they will solve the case, or not. lol

I think Donovan's point is that the case will end either way in a few months, it will not go on for years. The Shermans do not belong to a "Protected Group" who continuously lobby the police and politicians to pursue this case to the end of the Earth.

I think the family has offered a large monetary reward for the capture of the culprit(s). I think the family has also hired their own investigators (retired police officers?) who are working in parallel with the real police.

I'll be surprised if the case is ever solved. These weren't "two pricks with semi automatics" who did the job.

The only chance the police have is to follow the money.

It is strange how there is no mention of any surveillance video whether it is cameras on the premise's interior or exterior or even the neighbours cameras. That particular street should have alot of neigbours with security cameras. It was said that the cameras in the house, in the pool room had been turned off. There was open house and more than one real estate agent had access for viewing as well as the housekeeper.

The excerpts from Donovan's book explain a couple of examples of how the police deferred, ignored and mishandled both the perishable and durable video evidence.

The durable video evidence has not been released to the public at large for whatever reasons ?

No. It was never solved But I bet Justin Trudeau and the Trudeau Foundation have a clue.

In this one case, I wouldn't be surprised if it were Bigg(er) Pharma!

Or a relative and it was about money and/or the Will.

I think the cops now do pretty much know who is responsible. Just have to build a solid, prosecutable case with a clear story.

Professional hit though. Wouldn't surprise me if it remains officially unsolved and goes "cold" although the file will never be closed of course.

I would assume because it doesn't help the ongoing investigation.
It would appear that the Toronto Police have done many things that do not help this investigation past and likely present. The investigation was botched from the onset as you mentioned. Surely there must be some durable evidence which could be released to the public that could help unless it is being redacted because it could hurt the investigation. The Toronto Police need all the help that they can get on this case.

Professional hit. Lots of potential enemies. This could go unsolved, unless someone rats and cuts a tell-all deal with the cops.

Not sure I'd blame the cops over this one.

How so, the Toronto cops were suckered by the killer(s), duped into looking the wrong way at the wrong time and were arrogant about it from the onset until they realised that they were out of their league.
