With election day less than 48 hours away, Andrew Scheer suddenly found himself in the hot seat Saturday as reports linked the Conservative party to a co-ordinated effort to smear former caucus colleague Maxime Bernier and his nascent populist People's Party of Canada.

The Globe and Mail reported that strategist Warren Kinsella and his firm Daisy Group were hired to "seek and destroy" Bernier's party and portray its supporters as racist. A source with direct knowledge of the project said the client was the Conservatives, the Globe reported. ......

The Conservative leader, whom polls suggest is locked in a neck-and-neck duel with Liberal rival Justin Trudeau, refused to confirm, deny or even acknowledge the report during a news conference in Toronto that featured few questions about anything else.

"We don't offer comments on contracts that may or may not exist on vendors we may or may not have a relationship with," he said, repeatedly.

“Transparent” is a subjective term. Legally, there are things you can’t disclose. Doesn’t necessarily mean they are nefarious.
Apologizing for ethics violations over and over doesn’t mean transparency. It’s means incompetence and guilt.

Not really, as he refused to do press interviews and only did it with certain media. At least Trudeau conducted the town halls on a regular basis. Harper was no saint and even found in Contempt of Parliament. But read the list of other abuses of power:

Where did I call Trudeau a Saint?? But at least he had some numerous town hall meetings, where on many occasions there were right wing hecklers planted in order to try and disrupt his meetings!!

But the manner in which you elevated Harper, well I did have to bring him down to earth with his not so squeaky clean record as you suggest that he had!!

Harper was the best Conservative Prime Minister in recent memory. Between 2006 - 2012, he governed well but got too grim in his later years. The attack ads against Trudeau didn't work and he became intolerant toward minorities. The Toxic Avenger does not win elections.

Currently the social conservatives are in control of the party and Shiva Scheer is no Harper.

Scheer is the biggest fraud. He will not say who he has hired to try and destroy the PPC. No wonder why the internet is literally jammed with a lot of this misinformation.
He is a hypocrite that criticized those who had dual citizens and were running for office. Why did he take so long to revoke his US citizen and keep it so quiet all along.

No one cares about dual citizenship. The guy was raised in Canada, as a Canadian. Over a million people in Canada have dual citizenship.
