GNU/Linux is often considered to have better security because to modify system files a root access is needed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_malwareI use Linux for Kodi. It is a different type of operating system. Whether it is bullet proof or not, I cannot say. But yes, it is the best operating system if you are using Kodi. Not sure how certain programs like Excel, Word and Power Point would be able to function in Linux. Also, in the past when I was using my Blackberry Playbook, I found it to have a software that was fairly well shielded from viruses and malware. Did not have any antivirus software, as it was not required.
But Bitdefender is the best software and the best time to purchase it is during the Boxing Day sales at Best Buy. I got a 3 Year Bitdefender Total Security for around $60. It covers 5 different devices. Great value for your money.
I am currently in the process of switching to Bitdefender, using their 0ne month free trial and will buy either the 2 0r 3 year package they offered me. Same program as bver_h and cost the same. Like the software as it is user friendly and appears to offer real good protection. Customer service Okay but slow, IMO!I use Linux for Kodi. It is a different type of operating system. Bitdefender also offers a VPN for around $50 per annum. Purchased the Hotspot Shield that they partnered with, but ran into a lot of glitches is the first few months. It works well now. However, when you visit certain sites, they always demand to know whether you are not a robot. That is the only annoying part. Will not renew this VPN, as it does not support gadgets like the Android Box, Kodi or even Roku.I am currently in the process of switching to Bitdefender, using their 0ne month free trial and will buy either the 2 0r 3 year package they offered me.
