PC MPP Amy Fee charged with assault with a weapon

So female MPP assaults her husband, is charged with assault with a weapon, and Ford states:

"Amy Fee is a very important member of our caucus and we support her. We ask that her and her family's privacy be respected during this time."

If this had been a case of a male MPP assaulting his wife or partner, he be out of the caucus so fast his head would spin, but in this case because its a female abuser, we have to respect her privacy.

Talk about a double standard, victims of domestic violence are also males.

Fee charged after alleged incidents involving her husband

Progressive Conservative MPP Amy Fee has been charged with assault after two alleged incidents involving her husband, Stephen Craig Fee.
According to court documents, both alleged incidents took place at a home on Doon South Drive in Kitchener.

Documents state the first incident occurred on Sept. 6, 2019.
Amy Fee is accused of assaulting Stephen Craig Fee with a cell phone, court documents say.
The second alleged incident occurred on Oct. 5, 2019.
Fee is accused of assaulting Stephen Craig Fee with a weapon. The court documents say that weapon was a "box lid."
Fee was arrested on Oct. 8, and charged with assault with a weapon.
She's scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 7. in Kitchener.
She has been ordered not to communicate with Stephen Fee and not to attend a home on Doon South Drive. She's also barred from possessing any weapons.
Fee is the PC MPP for Kitchener South—Hespeler and is the Deputy Government House Leader.
A spokesperson for Premier Doug Ford provided a statement late Friday saying, "Amy Fee is a very important member of our caucus and we support her. We ask that her and her family's privacy be respected during this time."

“A box lid” is assault with a weapon? I don’t think this is a double standard as no man would attack a lady with a box lid. This is definitely a womanly attack and I am ok with giving her a pass.

When it's a female assaulting a male she won't be charged unless there are noticeable injuries. If she pushed you and you fell and have no injuries cops won't arrest her. So in this case there has to be an injury for the arrest and charge.

Being old fashioned, I must ask: is he confined to a wheelchair or some similar situation? I had a girlfriend, once, who would throw a bomb in the fit of anger, now and then. Being not a small man, I was always able to take it(in high good humor) which infuriated her even more, but it never crossed my mind to call the cops or even strike back. I'd simply pick her up and toss her into the bedroom and close the door until she cooled down. The sex was sure hot and angry after each episode.

We are living in a #metoo universe
Doesn’t surprise me at all completely different outcomes
For two different sexes

it's this type of attitude that creates the double standard, you are lucky she didn't call the cops on you. By what you describe they could have charged you with 2 criminal offenses, assault and forcible confinement. It doesn't matter that she was the one assaulting you.

I am addicted to adrenaline so when a fight comes up with a guy, I never pass the opportunity. I have knocked out guys bigger than me in less than 20 seconds in and outside the rink. But I will never hit a woman. Since we are little we are taught you never ever hit a woman and 92% of men never do, but women almost never get the same lesson. My cousin was murder in April, by his ex-girlfriend after he got a restraining order against her.

I want all domestic violence to end, it's a crime that destroys so many Female and Male lives.....and it's time to stop viewing Female-on-Male violence as acceptable.

It is a complete double standard.

I'm glad to see she was arrested. That is a start but politically she should suffer the consequences like any other man would in this case.

It is fucking ridiculous that in almost 2020 now, this is still an issue and even worse, the climb up this mountain is so slow moving.

I hope the BF is being given the supports he needs in this time. To help him through and to help keep him away. Once in a DV relationship, it will never change until you leave and make that change for yourself.
