So who is the target here. People with regular jobs? Deduction at source means very low return. Super rich? Lawyered up big time = no return and endless appeals. Corporations? Lawyered up AND unlikely to be major offenders = low return high cost.

Small business and self employed BINGO!!!!! Easy to steamroll, quick settlements no lawyers and probably either hiding or being slightly incompetent in taxes.

The Sheriff of Nottingham is coming to town to tax the peasants!!!

You have no idea what you are talking about. The CRA has been cracking down on everyone the past two years, as the Liberals need revenue. They are going back multiple years, on very small accounts. I have a number of accountants I work with and they all tell the same story.

It is ironic that the people who advocate social programs the most, seem to not want to enforce the tax code. We have massive tax fraud in this country, and the CRA needs better tools (they lag the IRS significantly).

Beyond that, only one party has accused small business of being tax cheats.
They have not accused them of being tax cheats. They have changed the laws to prevent them from exploiting the tax codes meant to help small business. Why should sprinkling be allowed when people are not actually working in the business. It IS fraudulent in this case. To claim someone as an employees just for tax purposes = fraud. Its really that simple.

lol you better tell Trudeau... never mind Morneau, the most clueless finance minister we have ever had, who had to massively backtrack.

Beyond that, you unsuccessfully sidestepped your base assertion. You guys that post every day, all day, really need to get out into the real world. You have no fucking idea what you are talking about when it comes to finances or the economy. Not surprising as anyone who posts here all day, is not out there making bank.

Haha actually I make well into the 6 figures..and BTW you are posting as well. There was never any tax provision that specifically allowed income sprinkling, it was just an abuse of the fact it was not enforced. All the Feds did was enforce it. Income splitting was also a provision that heavily favored upper income earners. Why not just refundable tax credit to even the savings. Morneau owns a large family concern so he knows ALL the tricks. he is just closing all the doors he knows exist and that he has probably exploited in the past. Flaherty was by far the worst finance minister. ALways throwing his own province under the bus and handing GM 5B too bail out GM pensioners.. appalling abuse of power.
