    Succesion

I nearly gave up on this series, the first three episodes were somewhat weak, but I stuck with it due to Brian Cox. He's the brutish patriarch of the Roy family: Logan Roy. I thought this was going to be a take on the Murdoch family, its actually closer to the Hilton's. Logan Roy has a problem - all his children are losers. His Media Empire is disintegrating, partially of his own making. Like Trump he listens to no one advice but his own.

There are some excellent performances that are driving the series.

Jeremy Strong - he was excellent as Mark Baum's shield (Steve Carrell) in The Big Short. He's taken that character and turned him into a capable but degenerate junkie, as Roy second eldest son Kendall.

Nicholas Braun - He's the idiot savant Greg Hirsch. He looks like a later day Claudius, bidding his time while the rest of the family tears itself apart.

Matthew MacFayden - A true chameleon, I shouldn't be surprised by how well he's played Siobhan Roy's cornudo husband Tom. Frustrated by his inability to rise above his station.

I was looking forward to seeing MacFayden play JP Morgan in The Current War. That film has the misfortune of being the last from The Weinstein Company, it has been shelved. A fate that also befell Joaquin Phoenix with Buffalo Soldiers. A film about US Soldiers grifting in post war Germany, it was shelved due to 9/11. Both are getting their revenge.

Kieran Culkin does a super job as well. Season 2 just ended, with a great setup for Season 3.

Kieran Culkin has that dissipated drug addled look that fits well with Roman Roy. All the Roy sibling are very well played. They are all so browbeaten by their father that they all talk the same...like William Shatner!

Of the four Siobhan Roy is the most annoying which is exactly what she's supposed to be. I had to find out if the actor who plays her Sarah Snook, is in any way similar.
