I have both scenarios covered. My head says disaster but my heart says glory. I’ll adjust if it’s something lies in between.
Who was the "genius" who threw an already injured Rielly on the ice when Leafs were already 4-6 goals behind? Now Rielly is out at least 8 weeks with a broken foot.

Keefe is burning his stars. Marner is playing Connor McDavid TOI minutes but Marner is no Connor McDavid and has been injured already once this year. Matthews is hitting personal highs in TOI minutes and he's a guy who missed 40 games in the past two years because of injuries. Tavares is also averaging over 20 minutes TOI with Keefe.

It was reported that the broken foot came from blocking a shot and had nothing to do with an existing injury. The Leafs played like they had had too much fun in Florida and didn’t seem to recognize the importance of that game as some fans did.

A quick look at the stats confirmed my suspicion that the Leafs’ defence is among the worst in the league. Only Ottawa has given up more goals and that’s even with Andersen playing his best in a few of those games. Without Muzzin and Rielly it’s going to get worse. Let’s hope for a miracle that suddenly the whole team decides to pay more attention to the defensive side of things and Andersen can bail them out as he has done in the past.

Since most NHL teams only carry 4-6 defensemen, he has to be a defenseman. I thought Drew Doughty but it's not him.

Name one NHL team that carries only 4 defencemen.

I'll wait.

Note: The Minnesota Wild played their game tonight with 5 defencemen.
Why, you may ask?
They forgot to list the 6th DMan on their Game Roster sheet.

Funny, because after you asked RockyDarts to name a team that carries only 4 defence, I was going to say, "name one that only carries 5, let alone 4" Glad I didn't.

The answer to this is Thomas Chabot of the Ottawa Senators.

We're now in the home stretch. Time to ask that ugly question again.

"Will Leafs make the playoffs?

You already gloated back in November after Leafs lost 6 in a row and fired backup telling everyone playoffs starts in November. Thanks for coming.

My own view hasn't changed since before the start of the season. It is still a coin toss (50-50).

The Leafs play Florida two more times and Montreal (0-3) one more time (TB twice and Boston one more).

Their best chance is to hang on to 3rd place in the division (if they can). Otherwise, they will have to fight 4-5 teams for a wild card.

Florida's giving them every opportunity to grab that spot, Leafs need to take advantage before the Panthers wake up.

Panthers look as they may go back to old habits of letting in late 3rd period goals as they did with LA. Leafs have 2 games vs Panthers. It's up for grabs between these 2 teams and it will come down games 81 or 82 to see who get's in.

This is such a ridiculously stupid question that only someone who knows nothing about hockey would ask.
A more interesting and intelligent question would have been can the Leafs get out of the first round and beat Boston.

Leafs made the playoffs last year. Throughout the year they were one of the top teams until they took a dip late in the season and having to play Holl on defense.
Leafs got rid of dead weight. They don't have a Nylander on holdout. They got rid of Sparks. Young core players are 1 year stronger and more experienced. They no longer have players in their late 30's. Spezza hasn't made the team yet. Gauthier looked better in their first exhibition game. The team overall should be better this year so yes whether they make the playoffs is a ridiculously stupid question.

The only reason they would miss the playoffs is due to injuries to key players. Which is what happened to Tampa Bay 2 years ago.

I would say without Gardiner they will beat Boston this year in 7 games and enter unchartered territory into round 2.

They are second overall behind only Tampa Bay as odds on favourite in Vegas to win it all. That alone already answers the question what people think about Leafs making the playoffs.
Of course the Leafs D is a question mark. That's a given. Does that even need to be stated? News for you Leafs are paying 3 forwards average over 11 million each in a salary cap era. How much money does that leave the D?

Of course Kadri is better than Kerfoot. How else to get Barrie.
With all of Dart's ridiculous comments I thought at first he was a 17 year old naïve little kid but the guy must be at least 60
Poll should have been closed the same day it opened. What a meaningless poll
He and his two friends know nothing about hockey but they are always good for a laugh or three.
