Saw this news story on city news about a hydro scam where people have fallen prey to it. They end up paying prepaid credit card/bitcoin to the scammers.

As soon as prepaid credit card and crypto currency are mentioned, that should be a red flag! it's a scam!! How dumb are these people?????

Ontario teachers pension plan has invested heavily in the green energy act scam. After having it crammed down our throats we can now fund their entitlements disguised as your hydro bill.

Bitcoin has lead to these scams. Bitcoin is not a currency that Hydro nor the government will ask you to pay. That's the first red flag.

May be these victims should have verify this "process" with Hydro by calling them to validate the whole thing before proceeding further.
Sigh!!
