There is no excuse, Doug Ford lied about the deficit size. Trudeau said the defict was larger then what Harper said it was (is was) and he would spend more because of what he thought was an emegency.
Lol. He promised to have a small deficit for infrastructure spending. And doubled it. And that's how he paid for his child credit. And no balance( I guess we should blame the deficit itself because it failed to balance itself dammit!)
What emergency? Economy was fine.
They both used the same voodoo budget projections. It's what all the parties do. So no, sorry, you don't get to scream about one and praise the other.

It doubled because the numbers from the Cons were wrong to start with. Doug Ford perpetrated a fraud that the Provincial Controller resigned over... Trudeau said he was was changing course and will take the political heat for it. Its a BIG difference.

The DPA bill was passed via omnibus bill after extennsive public consultation. Electoral reform I agree with you. He did not know what the fiscal status was because the Cons were didling the books. DOFO claimed the same thing but in the end it was a complete lie .The resignation of the NON PARTISAN controller is clear evidence of this. Politicians are all products of our system. Its not reasonable to expect complete change, but enough has changed that it makes a big positive difference to me. Govt is FAR more transparent then under Harper.
