I'll miss it. Certainly wasn't anything amazing, but I had my favorite girl and it was pleasant part of my regular schedule.

Agree. It was easy to take for granted. Now it's gone, never to be replaced.

Sad. First bar I ever had a drink in, back in 1980.

Holy shit really? Wow, I didn't know. It was a while since I have been there, but have had many favorites over the years. I remember from many years ago, Halo, Michelle, Caroline, Mercedes, Sarah, and many other hungarian chicks whos names I cant remember. Hamilton used to have a bunch of strip clubs, There used to be one on Barton and Balmoral, (called pandoras I think), and Centennial parkway (stilettos), and one right downtown on King street (cant remember the name), many years ago, now I guess there are none.

Why did HS close down, anyone know? Probably their dumb ass idea to start charging a cover charge on Thrus Fri and Sat.

Halo was still around at the end, not sure about the others, and there's always some Hungarians.

As for why it closed, area got rezoned, lease wasn't renewed, not sure there was much choice in the matter. Originally I think the plan was condos and a medical center to go there, but last I heard they've since discovered the water lines in the area are not as expected (i.e. insufficient pressure for the plans) and would require a fuckton of additional money, so I'm not sure if they're going ahead with anything at all currently.

There was Hamilton Strip (originally Hanrahan's), Maxims 's on King (originally Bannister's), Billy Rose's (on King), Legends (on Barton--originally the Piccadilly Tavern), one on Kennilworth (the place with phones on the tables), and the Jamesway and the Runway taverns on the mountain. That's all I can remember. I think there was even one in Dundas.

There was Luvlee's in the east end and the Million Dollar on Centennial Pkwy.

my understanding is that the strip club licenses die with the club if not transfered to another location. looks like no more peeler bars ever in hamilton now...

too bad Hamilton strip. Many good times like10-15 years ago. Had escort friend wanted me to take her since they did no allow single women. She really enjoyed and dances with the dancers. Last few year stopped by briefly but during day and was quite dead or no dancers seemed my kind.

Very early 70s it was a strip bar , west end of the building , than middle 70s the main central part where the present stage was it was a dance bar , no strip bar . So some time later became the main strip bar . Maybe some older gentlemen here can support my experiences . thanks Bart
