China only uses slightly more coal per person than USA, and India uses much less per person than USA.Interesting, China and India are the big issues.

What? Were we not told that negative interest rates would solve all of our problems and bring untold progress? We shipped our manufacturing to Asia. We now allow for the import of most manufactured goods. These goods are often produced using slave labour. China and India will use there natural resources to lift their populations out of poverty and sell our middle class out to cheap consumer goods. When the day comes we will be in no position to compete on anything except the export of used gay pride parade floats. The only other jobs will be cleaning these floats for export. If anyone will take them. Which they won't. The damage done to our economy over the last 40 years will guarantee us a trip to the Third World. Nobody reading this nor your children will share in any Canadian prosperity as it would take leadership, brains, and hard work to repair the damage. And if we did start today. It would take twenty years to turn it around.
But with GDP being a fraction per person this shows incredible inefficiency.China only uses slightly more coal per person than USA, and India uses much less per person than USA.
But don't worry, trump is going to bring Coal back.
That is irrelevant. But with GDP being a fraction per person this shows incredible inefficiency.
A step in the right direction.I think the map makes its point elegantly. If you are concerned about climate change, the world needs to find a way to work with China and India in reducing their reliance on coal.
We always get someone explaining the deeper meaning. In this case, it just distracts from the simple message.
Isn't it interesting that in the race to riches of capitalism, the guys way out in the lead want to take a breather and do nothing, because some who started late are struggling to catch up.Interesting, China and India are the big issues.

It is just part of the plan to keep the newcomers down.Isn't it interesting that in the race to riches of capitalism, the guys way out in the lead want to take a breather and do nothing, because some who started late are struggling to catch up.
Don't I remember a story like that from long ago? Seems to me it didn't end well for the leader.
The world has found a way to deal with India and China, It is called the Paris Agreement.I think the map makes its point elegantly. If you are concerned about climate change, the world needs to find a way to work with China and India in reducing their reliance on coal.
The Paris Agreement is as useless as Kyoto. China and India have no short term commitments in that agreement. The signatures are not meeting their obligations. The US is decreasing it’s emissions. The world has found a way to deal with India and China, It is called the Paris Agreement.
The only major country that does not want the Paris Agreement is USA, who wants to increase the use of Coal.
Paris is better than nothing. The Paris Agreement is as useless as Kyoto. China and India have no short term commitments in that agreement. The signatures are not meeting their obligations. The US is decreasing it’s emissions.
Paris is nothing.Paris is better than nothing.
Fortunately solar and wind are now cheaper than coal so fewer coal plants are being built, but what with the Amazon and Arctic burning these days you'd think people would be more concerned.
Paris is nothing.
Wind and solar are irrelevant, sadly.
China and India are not concerned.
Economics Trumps Aspirations (pun intended)It is USA that is not concerned. Wants to increase use of Coal.
So therefore the U.S. should not take any steps to curb carbon emissions?Economics Trumps Aspirations (pun intended)
1990 levels for the foreseeable future.

Fortunately Trump is successful in that venture as he is with everything else.It is USA that is not concerned. Wants to increase use of Coal.
That doesn't seem to be an issue. It is USA that is not concerned. Wants to increase use of Coal.
That doesn't seem to be an issue.
